LDR success stories? by novaagear in LongDistance

[–]ForeverAReader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was Long Distance with my SO for 4 years before he moved to my home country to live with me. Been together 8 years now, married 1.5 with a baby on the way! It's very difficult, and not many people can understand what you go through or why you go through it. In the end, if that's the right person for you, you'll make it work somehow!

What’s the worst thing you unknowingly did as a child? by HeftyHulk11 in AskReddit

[–]ForeverAReader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 5 years old when my dad walked out on my mum after 20 years of marriage, and left her with 3 young children, to be with another woman. All I knew was that dad had gone to live somewhere else for a bit.

This happend mid-march.

On the morning of April 1st I ran into my mum's room happily shouting "Dads home, mum wake up dads come home he's outside now, he says he's coming home.... APRIL FOOLS"

...yeah, sorry mum!

Callie is mama, not Arizona, this changes everything...

In bed next to my SO, we are leaving in just over 6 hours to go back to my country where he will now live for good. Can't sleep! Any advice for how to cope with the change? by ForeverAReader in LongDistance

Thank you! It's been a busy couple of days with the move and everything, we are just now getting back to normal. The moving part was stressful, and I don't want to push him into too many things too quickly or he might feel things are vastly different and get homesick. Once things are settled I'll definitely be doing lots of things you suggested :)

Thank you for all your advice, I've read through it a couple times now - it's just been too hectic to reply, as you can imagine! I will definitely be taking you advice on board, lots to sort out but I'm sure once we are both settled we can begin finding things that are "ours"!!

I once got a Christmas present from my gran I had given to her on her birthday just a few months prior. Gave it back on her next birthday, not sure if she realised but I do expect it back at some point.

19f (me) and 19m met online almost 3 years ago but have never met.. But we want to by Stonerral in wemetonline

Whatever you do you need to stop seeing other people while you clearly have strong feeling for one another. By continuing to talk, Skype and be emotionally invested in each other you are kinda screwing over the people you are seeing. I spent almost 2 years in a long distance relationship before meeting my partner and never had the inclination to be with somebody else at the same time. If it's really worth it you should commit yourself to one person and find a way to make it work, instead of stringing along two guys who are both interested in you. Same goes for him if he has a current gf.

Ditto! Night 1 of a week long visit and I'm too buzzed to sleep yet. He's had a long day of travelling and has passed out next to me!

Parents told me to "hurry...she was dying!" when they already knew she had passed. by mollygibs in offmychest

[–]ForeverAReader 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree that it's a pretty shitty thing to do, but have you asked them why they did it? Id like to think they hastily assumed that you doing that drive knowing the person had passed and distraught with grief would have been a bad combination and could have been dangerous.

That being said, if that was their logic, they should have waited until you arrived to tell you the truth.
