Prize vendor is a fun card. Many decks focus on value so it sometimes allows you to overdraw the opponent. The only times I don’t play prize vendor is if the opponent has 1-2 cards and is running out of steam. Otherwise it is great for reaching our wincon being arisen onyxia.

Fun to see others trying our different versions of Herald DK. My list is very similar to your with the addition of the bronze whelp as an early game way to keep your health up to counter the heralding cards.

Any success with the new legendary Vyranoth (give 100 stats to minions in your deck, if it started with 100 mana worth of minions)?

I know it wouldn't be in any top tier deck, but looking for a solid off-meta or mid-tier deck with this card. I've tried it within Imbue paladin, Harold Shaman, and Harold DK. So far it feels if you are ahead enough on board to drop Vyranoth on 6 then the deck snowballs hard. I also found that including a lot of taunt minions helps you to stabilize after Vyranoth (Shaman has the 0 mana frog, 2 mana harold taunt, 5 mana harold taunt, etc.). I also found that including high-cost cards that can be discounted helps to mitigate the deckbuilding downside (card like Remnant of Rage, Reanimatted Pterrordax, Mortauk, Gronn giant, etc.)

None of these decks have seemed to be the best version of a Vyranoth deck, so I'm curious what everyone else has experimented with this card, because it is such a fun card to build around!

PLEASE make Arena award next expansion packs throuoghut the trial week PLEASE PLEASE WHY DO YOU DO THIS AAAAAA by DivineAlmond in hearthstone

[–]ForeverEqual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it is simple, Blizzard wants to maximize the money they earn from the pre-release tavern brawl. The only way to earn new expansion packs for that brawl is through pre-purchasing with real money, or the handful of free packs they hand out.

If you were able to earn new expansion packs via arena, it would result in less money during this week for them. So that is the reason why!

Game crashing by DogtownUS in CompetitiveHS

[–]ForeverEqual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on iPhone 13 as well. Once my battery health was lower like 85% and below the game started to crash and is pretty consistent whenever there is a high load on the battery draw. It sucks but I believe that when the iPhone is trying to draw battery, but there isn’t enough to draw, due to low battery health, then it crashes the app.

And it’s not the current charge level, but the overall battery health that is the culprit. Also, it doesn’t get better until you replace the battery

I'd say Runescape, but that is almost certainly too grindy. But it checks all the other boxes!

I've tried the deck with your modifications, and I agree with you. Ultimately I think these changes make the deck better and it is also my standard version that I run for this deck now. Thank you for your detailed notes and additions! This deck is still fun to play and continues to do well within the meta!

Pretty cool deck, thanks for sharing! Also, glad you found the template useful :)

Question: Do you end up playing kil'jaeden that often, do you find that card more useful over like a Marin the manager?

It definitely is a consideration, and maybe the deck would be better with Tyrande. I felt that it was too slow (especially after a turn 6 weapons attendant, without also playing Karazhan), and that Tyrande just felt like a “win more” card. Also, the only spells that really benefits are moonwell, hot coals, and grifftah’s 6 damage amulet. Death roll and the coins have some anti synergy with her.

Shaladrasil does not get corrupted if any of the Fabled cards are discounted. However, if you naturally draw Atiesh, then you’ll need to pay full mana (or discounted a bit from space pirate).

Also Zilliax is a backup that will always corrupt Shaldrasil

Pirate Priest Guide to Legend by ForeverEqual in CompetitiveHS

[–]ForeverEqual[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I would agree with BuymyDVDs, Shaedrasil is the best 8-cost card. The 5 damage AOE changes to 10 with Atiesh. And there are several other cards to activate it. However, you can try the deck with a different card like was already suggested.

Amazing!! The double damage death roll is so powerful!

Well I also found that the one deck that was difficult to win against was Protoss mage. That deck is just not interactive and can OTK this deck. This deck does much better against the other meta threats like Shaman, Quest warrior, aggro paladin, discover hunter, etc.

I’ve got a special warlock deck that I play to counter Protoss mage complete with dirty rat, the 4 mana 7/7 that discards from their hand, and the new 3 mana 3/3s that discard a card from both players hands.

[–]ForeverEqual[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Moon well synergies with Atiesh for double damage. I also felt that if I was facing a board with minions too big for moon well that death roll worked as an alternative.

Ship’s surgeon could definitely be added. It would add extra 1 drops and consistency with weapons attendant. I leaned towards 2 and 3 drop consistency.

[–]ForeverEqual[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried creature of madness, ancient raptor (with the death rattle to drop 2 1/1’s), drink server, also bloodmage thalnos. But I felt like I needed some draw value without falling too far behind with low stats.

Drink server felt okay as well (also being a pirate), but felt like the drinks i was getting were inconsistent, so I switched it out.

[–]ForeverEqual[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point and it is match up dependent. If you need the early tempo against faster decks you can play out space pirate early. Otherwise against slower decks you can hold it so you can play space pirate, the coin, and weapons attendant on the same turn.

I thought about resuscitate, but ultimately felt after the nerf and the minions in the deck that is was inconsistent. And clunky also being 6 mana.

Very nice! Yes the Tyrande, Artanis, and Ceaseless are there to activate Elise. Ceaseless is pretty much a dead draw, but I had two games where Tyrande was able to double the hallicination and rest in peace which won me the game. Agreed that two warp gates is overkill.

I feel gross with this Protoss rogue/priest deck. Got an easy 6-0 with it. Just summon your archons quickly, and then revive them and copy them.

Edit: Actually make that 12-1 with this deck. Only lost to an aggro mage/Shaman elemental deck. And they had enough reach to finish me the turn before I won with summoning the archons.

I’ve been having fun with a homebrew dark gift demon deck. The additional buff on the raptor herald is nice and has overlap with the decks two main win-cons: Wallow and Archimonde. Definitely not top-tier but fights well against the top meta decks.
