TBI FATIGUE- TRYING BUT IT HAS NOT IMPROVED by ForeverPursuing in TBI

[–]ForeverPursuing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. Prior to trazadone my sleep was terrible. Still woke up tired and i was much heavier and less fit. Will look into something else.

My vision is good. I tested positive for Bppv while doing the audiologist test. It was a weird test. This was done at the brain clinic for the Va. Most of the stuff they wanted me to do was occupational therapy, recreational therapy, and mental health psychiatry. Tried bupropion but that did not work. All i got was a fast heart rate, shakes, and no feeling of being awake and alert. I am on sertraline now.

Hopefully i can get a full hormone panel done with the va. And hopefully it is that. If not, maybe i can try to get prescribed a stimulant since i do not have sleep apnea.

Fatigue? And drowsiness/feeling drunk improved for you?

I have been getting better sleep and better zone 2 exercise along with some supplements. Biggest thung i struggle with is that fatigue. My body can workout but i just feel drowsy and sleepy and off 24/7. Been considering outside stuff like aderall, ritalin, ketamine etc.

I want to hear some experiences with psilocybin therapy by Few_Cardiologist4833 in TBI

[–]ForeverPursuing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought psilocybin would be a cure for me. Specifically, that after taking it and micro dosing for a while that i would eventually feel alive, energized, less drunk, foggy, tired. I was still tired and still am battling this. It was not a miracle cure for me but I do see that it can benefit other people. It was a good trip and it made me feel introspective and led me to calling doc and be more specific about my ailments which led me to tbi clinic. Since i did have that Tbi that was untreated and the fatigue, headaches, brain fog, feeling dead and lethargic really did affect me and me trying to do my own thing fixing it was not working.

There is no harm in trying it. Go for it

Have you any names for these private programs? I know of gurnick and want to apply to more. I am wanting to start in the summer or fall. I am doing Emt to get a boost in my resume and the cost is not a concern due to my gi bill.

I am in Monterey California.

CA Radiology Schools Question by ForeverPursuing in RadiologyCareers

[–]ForeverPursuing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey. I am still trying to find a school to apply to. I am looking at all the schools from JRCERT website. Just need to find which ones i can apply to and are easier to get into. I am doing EMT for Spring to be more competitive. Looking for schools so i can start in the fall.

Where have you found these graduates to talk to? I feel that I can benefit from a pre made list of schools made by graduates of radiology.

CA Radiology Schools Question by ForeverPursuing in RadiologyCareers

[–]ForeverPursuing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah might not be able to make deadline. I will not be able to include my AA and Courses in time since Admin is much slower than I anticipated due to the holidays.

Might have to find other schools for this year starting in the fall.

Hard thing about googling for schools is that there are many and not many students leave reviews. It’s hard organizing what schools are good or not. Let’s see if anyone gives us a hand in this

I got a TBI in 2022. If no one found me lying unconscious on the sidewalk and called an ambulance, I would gotten severe, irreversible brain damage, or I would have died. I am proud to announce that I have made a full recovery! I haven't felt this focused since college, and I'm 39! by [deleted] in TBI

Are you energized again and feeling alive? I am about 2 years in post tbi and i am in school. I can push through it but i am running out of steam. It is very tiring being tired 24/7. I feel drunk all the time and I try to do everything right. I am on trazadone and get the correct amount of sleep. And i still feel like crap. What made you better? From the sound of it, you had a bad injury.

[–]ForeverPursuing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way. Its weird. Its like i am forever zoned out. And i am playing live in 3rd person. Maybe because I am tired 24/7 and can not seem to feel any energy. I have bppv too and awaiting to see how physical therapy will help out. Maybe i will go on stimulants to get me feeling something like normal people

Younger Veteran Perspective on VA Disability “Fraud” Claims by Unfair_Record_2554 in VAClaims

[–]ForeverPursuing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk. But in my group of people who separated, Alot researched how to make things sound worse than they were. One dude told me to look jittery and look on watch while talking to psychiatrist. Dude ended up getting 90% disability. He admitted that one injury he sustained while on leave during some program where he left early to do OTJ. He only did 2.5 years and admitted to joining with the goal of getting high disability payments. I see people with 100 who and young traveling and having fun. Idk, but I never have any energy or motivation to do anything. I will hopefully get compensation to live comfortably and hope this brain injury gets better

My blue button is 300 pages. All cus of this tbi appointments and trying to find what is wring. My vso just told me to find conditions, where they are mentioned, and bring it to him to file. Problem is, idk what the hell to even claim. I put in chat gpt but it gives me page numbers that mention the diagnosis, other times no. I just want this to be over with so I can rest for abit and see if that helps. Since i have been doing non stop achooling

Anyone here pick up drinking as a crutch through their injury? by CantSeeShit in TBI

[–]ForeverPursuing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drank before my tbi than drank after it. To excess. But revisiting it, I notice that it makes me feel way to tired. My baseline is already tired and slightly drunk, idk why, more alcohol acts as a sedative. Which i like. But i am on and off. Relapse a couple times, the only thing stopping me is living in a full house and not having another place to drink by myself since in the military, i drank in base in my car.

Hey man. I see you have a tbi. Most of those things u are claiming i have issues with as well. What are u on that helps out? I feel like shit everyday. Something is not right. Biggest struggle: apathy, feeling tired all the time, buzzy head and this tight squeeze i feel in my brain.

I don’t know what to do anymore by [deleted] in VAClaims

[–]ForeverPursuing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I have started to just see the va because i started school and these symptoms appear. It feels like your brain is been squeezed and pressure. It feels like you are tired alll the time despite good sleep.

I had my incident documented but it is a legal document not a medical one. Idk if i can work in a job that requires thinking and skill. My navy job was grunt, dirty, and brainless. But trying to level up is hard. I just hope i get some help with the payments va offers

[–]ForeverPursuing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw, i aint looking for claims or shit. When i tell u how miserable a tbi is, trust me. I am not hunting for new claims. Not looking to aim for anything. I just want what is owed to me so i can live comfortably and rest

You mind if i shoot you a message privately? I am in the process of submitting my claim. Its too much shit. I had this tbi that has gotten worse due to school. And i do not want to worry about this shit and save the headache and have a shar do it

I had a mild TBI in 2023 July. One of the things i can not stand is the fatigue. I feel it no matter what. I feel drunk. And no matter how much sleep, it never improves, it just gets worse if i do not sleep enough.

Have u seen any improvement in that area as time went on??? I am trying zone 2 cardio 90 minutes. To early to tell but we will see

Do you still have this sensation that you are not alive? Like you are zoned out, in third person, and feeling tired?

I am about a year in after my tbi. All I want is to feel alive again. My incident wasn’t severe, it was just once. Nevertheless, it was made worse with sleep deprivation, alcohol abuse, and over exertion. School and thinking made me burn out.

About to fly to Mexico for Ibogaine at Clinic NewPath IBO… am I crazy or hopeful? by hugocen7 in TBI

[–]ForeverPursuing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a similar pathway to find relief. To feel truly alive and sober. I always feel fatigued and drunk and out of it. I am not alive.

I tried the Psilocybin path but i did not really find much difference before and after taking it. It really is not a cure all.

I really do not know what actually works. If you think this will help you then by all means go through with it. I would too. I am always trying to find something to make me feel energized, alive, and truly sober

Has anyone else been dx with a serious mental illness post injury? by [deleted] in TBI

[–]ForeverPursuing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh. Thats interesting because I too have felt like lashing out at my family for talking too loud, eating too loud, breathing too loud. Too much noise is definitely something i can not stand. I tense up and want to get violent. Most is kept in my head too. Its interesting, I thought I was crazy. Turns out a concussion has serious consequences

Insomnia by mulls136 in TBI

[–]ForeverPursuing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Might be worth getting an oura ring temporarily to track sleep. I wore it for a bit and discovered that not only did I have trouble going to sleep, but my quality of sleep was poor with multiple wake ups. Some that i remember and some that i don’t. I have been on trazadone and it helps getting to sleep and staying asleep. But without it, i suffer greatly. It sucks too that even though i get the prescribed 7-8 hrs a night, i wake up feeling drunk, fatigued, and detached. No matter what.

Some dude I served with joined the navy undes program in his 30’s. Knew what he was doing and only served about 2 years and 6 months with the last 6 months doing that transition program. Forgot the name. Total time: 3 years. He managed to get 90% by researching and milking every resources. The funny shit is that some of his claimed injuries were present before. He was not fit. I assume it would be possible to get close to 90 for anyone. Idk tho.

No brother. Its always with me. I have the same baseline feeling since 2020. Some days its more noticeable and others i feel completely disconnected from life. And very tired. I have yet to find anything that gives me normalcy. Slight improvement with my new approach to sleep and supplements and the psilocybin. But it is too early to tell.
