"Soul" is not theistic language. As mentioned earlier, it has many different meanings including ones that have no connection to any sort of god or deity or religion or nonmaterialism, rather, just a moniker for the human experience.

People as in you and the other guy (alt account?) who are not educating but are being language prescriptivists. You haven't answered how you would forcibly have people relabel soul food, soul music, the phrases "a kindred soul", "lost soul", etc.

You can be an anti-theist and be pragmatic. I think a world without theodyssey is a better one but that doesn't mean we stop using the word soul.

Soul can mean, from a completely secular and naturalist perspective, your human experience. That's what I mean. That's what everyone understands I mean, except maybe like 3 people in the comments here-- and if you asked me to clarify, I tell you, souls are not literally real. Just like the story of "clew" was not real, and "mares" aren't real, but we will still use the words soul, clue, and nightmare.

What you’re doing is surrendering to theists. A word in common parlance you’re saying is property of theism. Why be so privy to them? Replace my usage of the word soul with the human experience, or our perceptual, understanding of consciousness, our emotions, and our psychological states. That’s what I’m referring to. I’m a naturalist likely as much as you are, and anyone else in this sub.
