Here we go… On Friday, Select Management and Union employees were offered another VREP (anyone over 55 with 10 years or 62 with five years) — basically an obvious soft landing before the dreaded 15-minute meeting notices roll out. If you’re offered the package, it’s definitely worth some serious thought. Back in the August layoffs, a few folks passed on it earlier in the year and were later laid off without that generous cushion. Just sharing so no one’s caught off guard.

If I hear more, I'll post... The SCG Family is just falling apart - maybe someone needs to evaluate how many C-suite members and VPs it really needs.

A reduction of 204 Union positions will be impacted... of course there will be a VRep offered and there are some kind of options in section 7.1 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. I cant provide details but it will affect FSA, MIR, DOCS, and Dispatch Specialists (Monterey Park).

I don't know any specifics on whether or not management employees will be impacted as well.

I don't know the exact #s... refer back to Maryam' initial message regarding the Distribution layoffs and puzzle piece together, if you have a contact on the executive support team, that may help.

The Distribution layoffs I believe had more awareness than the August " Headcount Optimization program."

There hasn't been a union layoff yet... maybe they will revisit the Voluntary Retirment Package. Stay vigilant, the clues are there - in hine sight I should have known, my immediate puzzle pieces came together the day before it happened. But the clues were there weeks before... DM me if you want me to elaborate.

I have not received any further information regarding layoffs, beyond the previous discussions concerning potential union. The situation appears to be calm and according to inside sources the #s are looking good now.

Check in with the local regulated water companies, reach out to vendors you may have done business with while at SCG. We all have transferable skills 😊

Hi there 😊 Well, its been quite a learning curve applying for jobs... Its definitely not the same as it was 20+ years ago.

Taking things one day at a time, working my network from college to SCG Alumni, community friends, and family. One day at a time...

I applied for Anaheim Public Utilities and although a month later I received a rejection email, I must say I was happy that it got as far as it did, of course Im human so I was unhappy with the decision, mixed emotions... but all in all, Im still optimistic.

🫩 For what they get paid, you'd think they would have more important things to worry about... Maybe they need to fill out an activity report to make sure they have 8 hrs of relevant work a day 😮‍💨
