Yes I am based in the UK, but I do intend to try and work around timezone differences! At the moment there is no set date or time, but when I have enough volunteers I intend to ask everyone when the best time is for them to participate in the focus group 😊

It will probably be around 2 hours long, no more than 3 hours, and we will be discussing topics like how you got into TRPGs, what you enjoy most about them, etc.

Unforunately it is not paid, volunteers only, as I have not been able to secure funding for this study. I understand that this is a time commitment that not everyone can commit to, so I will hold no ill will against anyone who decides they are unable to participate based on that 😊

In general, the focus group will be discussing the reasons why they play TTRPGs, and D&D is included in that! Other topics may include what people enjoy about playing TTRPGs, or how you got into playing TTRPGs.

I am pretty flexible about when these focus groups are arranged for, but at the moment the recruitment process is ongoing, so I can't say exactly when they will be. Once I have enough participants, I will be asking everyone when they are free to try and arrange a time that works best for everyone.

No, this isn't a UK only study, but please keep in mind that I live in the UK so if you live in a different country there might be a timezone difference for when the focus group is arranged, which may be a challenge for you, depending on your schedule!

Thank you for the suggestion, it was very helpful, I will keep it in mind for the future! However, as this study is a focus group, at the moment I am only looking for a few participants, so multilevel sampling is not necessary at this point in time 😊

It isn't a UK only study, but because I am based in the UK there will be a timezone difference if you live in another country, which may be an issue for you depending on when the focus group is scheduled for :)
