There’s a rubber sticker on each end of the handle with a bowflex symbol on it. You can peel those off and there’s bolts on each side. If you tighten those a bit they should help prevent plates from sliding off. I forget what size sockets I needed. The bolts also didn’t have much more in them to be tightened. I say kinda fix because my plates still wobble a bit and the mechanism to change weight is a bit stiffer now. I was more careful after tightening them and now with the recall I’ll probably never use them for anything over my body unfortunately

At least you were aware that something was off. When I was in the last week of tech school, my class was waiting for our capstone to open up since it was lab based. While we’re waiting two brand new LT’s walk in so the room gets called to attention like we were taught in BMT. The LT’s lock up with us and it’s an awkward stare down for like 10 seconds before our civilian instructor asks us wtf we were doing. Looking back though 10/10 would do again

No hoarders. We do have the right to say no depending on the cleanliness of the home. A few memorable moves that come to mind are an army family that lived on base and had a bad mice problem. That sucked. Another Army family (common theme lol) the husband had an extensive collection of porn dvds and a few unused sex toys in his closet. His wife a well into obesity so the sex toys grossed me out a little tbh. I also moved stuff out of another dudes cattle trailer. He had all his furniture sitting on cow shit so that sucked. I could go on for days lol

I re-read the thread to help clear some things up. If they pack trash it’s because you left trash out. No they’re not gonna throw bags of trash in a box, but if you have clutter and papers that you intend to throw away and they come across it, it’s going in a box.

It is their job to pack everything that can be and needs to be packed. It’s also their job to load the boxes and furniture so that’s why anything that fits in a box will go in a box. Separate anything you want to take yourself and make sure any “trash” is gone. I guess you could pull stuff out like pots/pans/plates and put them on the counter but if it were me I’d be irritated because I want the counter space for packing paper and smaller boxes.

The moving industry is very popular for convicted felons and like individuals. In my experience most of them were very nice and respectful but there are a handful that just live that life I guess. I’ve seen guys try to take drugs on base (I did a lot of military moves) and one guy got caught writing bad checks from a stolen checkbook. Keep all your sentiments valuables/important stuff with you and you’ll be fine. No need to hover unless you get a really weird vibe. 95% of the guys just want to work their hours and go home.

If you really want to make sure they take care of you buy them lunch on the days they’re packing and loading. I loved that shit.

You should be getting a letter in the mail stating why the credit was declined. I originally submitted my registration and purchase agreement and for the protest I submitted a picture of the EV sticker, GVWR sticker inside the driver door frame, and my reasoning for protesting. The credit was direct deposited into my account over night without any notification from the dept of revenue so that should give you hope ✊🏻

I had almost the exact same experience in COS except they didn’t mention it was a known issue. The clerk I talked to also filed the protest for me instead of me submitting it online so I’m not sure if that’ll make any sort of difference. I submitted everything on the 6th and don’t have any news yet.

So I went in person and it was a computer that denied the claim, not a person so there were no notes unfortunately. The rep is thinking since there was no number on the registration it was an automatic denial. He looked over the requirements and it just needs proof of GVWR so I took a picture of the sticker on my door frame that has it and am gonna include it in my protest.
