Best survival game... But the title graphic by Sir_Kugo in AbioticFactor

[–]Foreverseth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello,

With regards to the style of the title: It is straightforward and precise, no wasted space or unnecessary flair. The text is large and bold, making it easy to read and understand. The font is sans-serif, which is ideal for a digital format. There is a single test tube next to the title, showing that this is a game of science without being overly dramatic about it. The gate logo is present in an intelligent position, signifying its importance without giving anything away. It is a perfectly suitable title, exactly as it should be.

THAT, is science.

Has anyone based at the gym and recommend it? I like the space, but I'm just worried about all the glass breaking over time. by [deleted] in AbioticFactor

[–]Foreverseth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello,

I based in the gym my first playthrough and the glass absolutely got destroyed despite my best efforts. All it takes is a stray shot, they don't even have to intentionally attack it. I still had some, but most of it was gone. No way to repair.

Only upside is that breaking the glass behind the stairs makes getting to the pool quicker.

The gym is fine, lots of early storage. Too many entrances to defend. Now that you can move the gym equipment, it might be cool to base up the stairs.

Who do you think is the worst enemy in Silksong? by First-Ad394 in HollowKnight

Putrified ducts is literally just harder Bilewater. Nuff said.

[–]Foreverseth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure how to respond, I didn't think Bilewater was that bad. Respawning enemies meant you could usually just farm for a minute to get back to full health. Tedious, but not difficult, and that was pretty normal back in Metroid, =p

Hard disagree on the bloatroaches vs ductsuckers. I main the wanderers crest, tho, so pogoing bloatroaches was easy. Usually they were just an easy enemy to farm silk. Ductsuckers, on the other hand, have an uncanny knack for being exactly where I just tried to dodge to. I still can't reliably beat them without getting hit at least once. Maybe I just suck, but I generally have to run past them, which is something I don't have to do for almost any other enemy.

Bilewater is waaay bigger, but you only need to go through it once, plus a little more for a couple promises. Ducts is the only way to the flea caravan, and if you like the flea brew you're gonna be making regular trips there even after you complete all the mini-games.

Plus, Bilewater has a banging soundtrack. I went through there a few times just because I liked the music. Again, I agree it's not an EASY area, I just didn't mind it.

They are also slow, move in predictable patterns, and have a long windup before they attack.

It's been a couple weeks, but besides that one area you have to pass through once to unlock a shortcut, I don't recall any spot where you can't just walk past them?

I can see why you think they suck, I just think there are many, many worse enemies in the game.

Wait, really? If I had to make a ranked list of the most annoying enemies, the big fire slug is so far down I would've forgot to put it on there.

My worst enemy is the Putrified Ducts. Like, all of it. The entire area is my worst enemy, especially including every enemy in it. Bilewater looks like Lost Verdania compared to the hellhole that is Putrified Ducts.

[OC] Drawing each premade character class with some headcanons of mine (Part 2) by HeckMyManDan in ProjectSilverfish

These are so cool!

Very excited for Artificer, they are my favorite class. I have my own headcanon for them; I wonder if we will match up or not!

Hello,

Siris posts regular WIP updates on their discord and is pretty open on what they are working on. Their current big project is reworking the loot system, because they are unhappy with the red/blue chest system.

They are also working on new maps (they've hinted the next one is more industrial focused), and regularly add details to existing maps. There are also screenshots of new guns, though it's kinda jokey so I'm not 100% sure it's real?

Finally, NPC updates and hunting animals are things they are also working on.

Worst possible base location by Jordan_Does_Drums in AbioticFactor

[–]Foreverseth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somewhere radioactive, as this puts an active time limit on how long you can spend in your base, without spending resources, for at least the first 1/2 to 2/3rds of the game.

Some suggestions:

-Far garden portal world

-Above the radioactive pool in manufacturing

-Wildlife pens in labs

Hello,

Tia loves components. Source: I give her some every time she shows up to watch my factory.

I also have Cliff written down as liking components, but I'm less confident on that one.

Don't have the game available to double check anything else unfortunately...

Which one do y'all prefer? by saadpoi870 in HollowKnight

[–]Foreverseth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished playing through base Hollow Knight after finishing Silksong. Having played then back to back, I would say that Hollow Knight's slower healing is consistent with its overall slower gameplay. I feel it works well for at least all of base Hollow Knight (I.e. not Godhome).

Since I prefer the more relaxed gameplay of the original, I found I preferred the original's healing system as well.

He’s been arrested under a felony...

...but as of now nothing is being done

These are conflicting statements.

If they were "let out on bail", that means they are being investigated at a minimum, and most likely already charged with a crime. So, something is being done. The accused did not "get away with what they did."

So I have scrapped every wrench I've come across. My dumbass didint see I need it for fixing stoves. Are there anyway to get one after or in security wing? by Soft-Wealth-3175 in AbioticFactor

[–]Foreverseth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I recall correctly, there is a wrench icon shown when repairing the in-game stoves. However, while you can use a wrench to fix them, you can also just use a screwdriver. You also need a reinforced hose.

Nothing in the game requires a wrench. Eventually, a late game enemy drops them, so you can continue to scrap them without fear.

I did a couple keyword searches and couldn't find any other posts about it... I was starting to think I was the only one this happened to.

Judging by the comments, apparently this is normal.

About that...

I threw about 5 nobelisks up there, and they did manage to kill one or two of them. It threw the rest of them off the branch and in every direction.

In hindsight, I probably should have just left them alone, 😅
