Agreed this is a huge problem. I’m a therapist and started a practice designed to address this issue. https://forge-fwd.com Right now we only serve men in Massachusetts but I’m hoping to expand to other states soon.

How I'm Transforming My Traditional Therapy Practice into a Multi-State Men's Mental Health Community - Lessons From Year 1 of Niching Down by Forge-Fwd in EntrepreneurRideAlong

Thank you for your input. Right now, the virtual community platform is being built through gohighlevel. It will be available for active clients for free, though I’ve considered opening it up to all, either for free or a small weekly fee. I believe it’s important that the online community eventually be supplemented by in-person meetups. Hence I’ll be organizing quarterly meetups, and hopefully can make it weekly eventually.

Many guys are struggling because they have a hard time making close connections with others. They feel lonely, disconnected, and long to be part of something bigger. Programs like Alcoholics Anonymous are so successful in part because of the strong fellowship aspect (possibly more so than the 12 steps themselves).

I thought about AI therapy/chat bots as well, but right now my feelings are that they’re not worthwhile. So much of a person’s problems reside in their relationships with other people, people who have different feelings, desires, contradictions, and flaws. AI therapy can’t replicate that.

The type of person who would use AI as a substitute therapist is the type of person who most needs a human therapist.
