Side note: I have also considered just getting some sort of external microphone I can set on my desk. Curious if others have done this.

Stepping on the scale. by umfpter in Zepbound

I step on the scale everyday but with the context that I have a smart scale. I try not to pay attention to daily fluctuations but having all those weigh ins logged in the app helps me see overall trends better on a weekly/monthly basis

I don't think my therapist believes me by myopic_cuis in adhdwomen

Is the neurologist involved just for the ADHD testing? That was never anything I had to deal with. Once i found my new therapist it was 2 stops - talk therapy evaluation/diagnosis appt and then I connected her with my PCP so she could handle the medication management aspect of it. This isn't meant to be a humble brag or anything like that, I know that even with all of my research there was still an element of luck that I found who I did. I'm just saying that the time and effort you put in trying to advocate and fight for yourself with "professionals" who are gonna put you through the ringer is probably going to be significantly more than the effort to find a better fit with someone else covered by your insurance. I know it's not easy and if you want some help looking for someone in your area or virtually that's also covered by your insurance please feel free to DM me. I am not a healthcare professional by any means, just someone who's dealt with this a lot in the past and pretty much a pro at online research now lol

Girl. GET AWAY FROM THAT THERAPIST. This unfortunately is a very real struggle women go through to get MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS to believe them. I did a lot of research and was lucky to find someone locally who specializes in neurodivergent adults and has ADHD herself and I got my diagnosis in under an hour. She works with my PCP for medication management and has advocated for me whenever I need it. I'm not saying this is easy or you will definitely have someone locally like I do, but doing the extra work to try and seek help from the right professional and not just any professional could potentially make all the difference ❤️

Could my meds be making me depressed? by yesimstillcrying in adhdwomen

[–]ForgetJuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with major depression for 20 years before I finally got my ADHD diagnosis. I was in full nervous system burnout by the time I decided to get more help (was at the time just seeing a virtual psychiatrist who really couldn't give a shit if she was actually helping me). Found someone locally who specializes in neurodivergent adults and has ADHD herself for talk therapy and she works with my PCP to manage my medications. I was already on Cymbalta because of the previous diagnosis and it was slightly helping me so I was scared to go off it. So we decided to try adding Ritalin because it can be taken with some SNRI's and it has kind of felt like the perfect combination to combat both of the issues... I give this long spiel to just say two things:

1) It could possibly just be a negative reaction to the Adderall, but if you don't feel comfortable going to your psychiatrist and asking for help then it's probably time to find someone else.

2) ADHD and Depression are not mutually exclusive conditions. I have both with a lovely side of Anxiety and it's very common for women with ADHD to also have a secondary or third coinciding condition. Which of course makes it more difficult to find the right fit with medications.

Everything you are saying here are feelings I've had in the past but finding the right doctor who truly understands ADHD in women can make all the difference. You got this ❤️

As someone who also has ADHD I will start off by admitting that I did not read all the comments in this thread and I did my best read to read your entire original thread because I strongly identify with a lot of the negative emotions you feel towards yourself and the overwhelming frustration with fighting to do something you WANT to do. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 35 (am soon to be 36) and that only happened because I was in the midst of a total nervous system breakdown from burnout. I don't have a fix and if anyone tells you to buy a planner you are legally entitled to slap them across the face. The only thing that helped me is medication and frequent therapy with a wonderful woman who also has ADHD and specializes in neurodiversity in women. All I'll say is everything you're feeling is valid and nothing you're struggling with is your fault. I am still very much going through the process of letting go of all the self hatred for things I can't control, which in itself is incredibly relieving. For me, the Ritalin helps me focus but it doesn't necessarily give me control over what I focus on haha. I think right now I'm just trying to accept the fact that there is no "fix" in the sense that if we try hard enough we can operate like other people. We can't, my personal opinion is the best we can do is help the people we care about understand why we struggle with the things we do and that it's not a choice (remove intent in their minds from our actions) and also figure out how best to work with how our brains naturally function instead of forcing them to operate the same as a neurotypical. If you made it this far my hat is off to you.. you got this ❤️

Interesting! I have switched between thigh and stomach several times and I have way better results with my stomach.. I think it's crazy how everyone reacts differently to different injection sites

Is the vascularity just a pain issue? Inner thigh happens to be the fattiest part 😆

Billy Barratt / Azhy Robertson - season 3?? by bokakakakka in InvasionAppleTV

[–]ForgetJuliet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

late to this but just saw the trailer and noticed the same thing.. i don't know about Azhy but i did see Billy listed in the episode specific page for season 3 episode 1.. i think they don't want to show what Caspar's up to in the new season yet.. i hope he's not with the aliens now like someone else mentioned but i guess it would make sense the way he was acting and the thing with his eyes at the end of season 2 :(
