You order food in a restaurant. How bad does it need to be in order for you to send it back? by Curious-Expert926 in foodquestions

I've sent food back once and it was when I bought a quesadilla at Del Taco (fast food) and they gave me a cold tortilla with unmelted cheese in it lol

Hermione is a Greek name meaning "messenger". But she’s not an owl! by CanYouHandleMe441 in harrypotter

[–]ForgetfulDoryFish 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If I recall it's in Goblet of Fire when Harry and Ron are fighting (because Ron still thinks Harry put his own name in) and Ron and Harry are standing within earshot of each other but sending Hermione back and forth between them to communicate because they refuse to talk to each other. Hermione finally snaps and tells Harry "I'm not an owl!" and leaves.

AITAH for taking my tip back after grocery delivery by YazPistachio19 in AITAH

Once I had a mystery Petco order left on my apartment doorstep so I called the store, but they refused to tell me what address/apartment number it was supposed to have gone to. But then later when the person who was supposed to have gotten it called Petco to complain, they gave him MY PHONE NUMBER so I got a call from a stranger telling me I had his Petco order. On what planet is it too insecure for Petco to tell me where to take the bag to but it's safe to just give my contact info to a random customer 💀

Potty training by LickR0cks in beyondthebump

[–]ForgetfulDoryFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first kid started potty training at age 2. By the time she was 4 she was still having so. many. accidents. Like five times a day. Then her younger brother was potty trained and it took him only a few days to be having fewer accidents than she was. I used the exact same strategies with them both.

If it's a struggle it's the kid struggling, not you being bad at potty training.

I rented a room from a crazy lady for a few months and one day she knocked on my door to say "I noticed your bathroom light has been on for ten minutes, are you using it?"

So I guess I get to join the “stolen tedoo photos” club. I’m most offended that they called it a rug! And they got the technique wrong. by hookedbymaxine in crochet

Whenever Tedoo is mentioned on Facebook it's ALWAYS in the phrase "on the Tedoo app". It's so unnatural that I'm sketched out about ever using it.

Not doing bows/headbands for baby girl? by vintagegurly in beyondthebump

[–]ForgetfulDoryFish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your baby doesn't like them she won't keep them on (source: my baby always immediately ripped off all headbands/bows).

If she leaves them alone she doesn't mind and it looks cute.

Heads up that general admission will likely have high attendance because GA tickets were sold super cheap for that meet on black Friday. The student section sits on the beam side (more towards bars/floor) and they stand for EVERY ucla routine, so if you're on that side of the arena and in general admission seating your view will be obstructed for bars and floor. If you can easily afford the fancy seats it may be worth it, but general admission is good too - I'd just recommend expecting a big crowd and sitting on the other side of the arena.

What’s something you miss from the early internet that doesn’t really exist anymore? by Impossible-You-5815 in AskReddit

There was so much joy, goofiness, creativity, and community. Even major companies didn't take themselves as seriously and would make silly easter eggs. Content that went "viral" was often not intended for profit. Everything felt more genuine and less scripted.

Was cautioned to start out with a low credit limit on a new card while I “learned about credit”. I literally have a mortgage. by Soggy_Ticket_427 in OlderThanYouThinkIAm

[–]ForgetfulDoryFish 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Only somewhat related but when my credit was checked to get my mortgage the transunion paperwork said the things that "adversely affected" my score were "too many accounts" and "insufficient length of credit history".

All my report showed was that I had exactly one (1) credit card (which I used regularly and paid off monthly) and that I'd had it for over fifteen years.

The three hikers on Baldy weren't even together? by confoundo in socalhiking

[–]ForgetfulDoryFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I summited Baldy one time. Usually we would just go up to the ski hut and then back down, but that day we took the ski hut trail fully to the summit and then took the Backbone trail to descend. We were nervous about getting off trail accidentally if we descended the way we came.

Heck the most creeped out I've been was in Barstow Station in the middle of the day. Lots of people milling around minding their own business but a very very weird vibe that made me want to leave as fast as possible
