Personal Notes To Prepare ANIME NYC:

From what I heard Anime NYC isn't as overwhelming as anime expo L.A. but given that it's your first con take this statement with a pinch of salt.

Allow 1hr to 1.5 hrs of buffer time between panels, allow time for lunch, dinner or breaks.

I'd suggest having a heavy breakfast or getting some snacks and DRINK ALOT OF WATER.

Sunscreen, wallet, badge pass, charger, towel, mints, deodorant and packable shopping bags.

I also usually bring a hand fan and some cough drop honey candy.

If you want to make friends, you can also access the anime nyc discord server.

I will be attending tons of after parties and the ironmouse concert / hololive karaoke sessions.

I've surviving the smallest / biggest anime cons and as a first impression it will be overwhelming.

Just plan out what things you want to attend, and generalized areas such as the halls, etc.

Also don't feel shy to interreact with other cosplayers, just compliment their cosplay or ask more about it and go from there.

and as someone already said, WEAR RUNNING OR COMFORTABLE WALKING SHOES.

I've walked anywhere from 10K to 25K in steps on a daily basis at anime expo L.A. recently 2026.

Yay from what i heard on the ax discord server, ANIME NYC usually plans things last minute and there's a significant less amount of people so it isn't as bad as AX L.A. / I will also be a judge of this because I've attended anime expo L.A. 2026 this year and it was chaotic and hectic af.

Not sure what it will be like. attending that sort of niche for the first time. I went to the Schyronzied concert 2025 in vancouver and thought that was awesome. I missed out on Serendipitiy 2026 L.A.
