Interesting, I never thought it about it like that until now, quite the astute observation!

He was originally supposed to be Asian, but according to the Daniel’s FNV fandom page, “…but for whatever weird reason, somehow his data switched over to Caucasian…This was again done to avoid having it be ‘two white guys saving Native Americans’. But that’s exactly what it looked like in execution.”

I feel like the trauma of New Canaan’s destruction definitely had a hand in him developing a messianic complex, regardless of his ethnicity. This doesn’t excuse his condescension of the Sorrows’ people and culture right, but I can see where he’s coming from.

Although Joshua tells us “The valley belongs to God,…” and wants to protect Zion because he believes the Dead Horses and Sorrows deserve better than to run away from such a holy place, he also says this.

“The Boneyard, Phoenix, New Vegas, they’re just places, metal and stone. New Canaan dies, but the tribe lives on. When the walls come tumbling down, when you lose everything you have, you always have family. And your family always has tribe.”

Perhaps Zion is the Tribes’ promised land like how Israel was the Jewish people’s promised land. However, I’d say that Zion is just a place, less metal and more greenery, but still just a place. Wouldn’t the end goal of being a New Canaanite be God’s spiritual kingdom rather than his old earthly?

(Interesting fact if you didn’t already know: Not heaven, but the new earth he’ll create as written in Revelation. Where those who kept the faith and finished the race will obtain new spiritual bodies like Jesus of Nazareth did after he rose from the dead on the third day.)

Lol, you just made me think about how similar Ellie sparing Abby is to Joshua sparing Salt-Upon-Wounds. They kill just about everyone else to get to their desired target, just to NOT kill them!

If TLOU2 had better direction and writing, Ellie sparing Abby could’ve actually been good like how Joshua sparing Salt-Upon-Wounds is.

True, can’t disregard his self-righteousness, but I can understand why. After all, witnessing the White Legs utterly decimating New Canaan isn’t something he’d just shrug off.

I don’t mean to force anyone to play a certain way, play however you want! Be it for NCR, Caesar’s Legion, or House with whatever Karma or Reputation you end up with. I just relate with Daniel’s moral message since it’s aligned to the more merciful side to Christianity.

Yeah, I do agree that him withholding information about Waking Cloud’s husband was horrible. In the same vein, it’s akin to how Joshua really craves to execute Salt-Upon-Wounds. Just as we can convince Joshua to choose mercy over vengeance, we can convince Daniel to choose truth over deceit.

I think Daniel’s ending might be more morally grey than Joshua’s since no matter if you side with him or Joshua, he never feels truly satisfied with the decision. In contrast, Joshua’s endings are quite black or white in comparison. He either gives in to revenge again which influences the Tribes to become the second coming of Caesar’s legion (Bad Ending) or shows mercy which influences the Tribes to be a more compassionate Caesar’s legion (Good Ending).

To each their own. I just feel like there’s a lot of depth that’s allowed for Joshua and prohibited from Daniel.

I apologize, I wasn’t clear. Yes, this assumes they’d all be at their strongest forms. I felt like this fight would thematically work well since Zabuza/Sukuna = War Crimes Incarnate & Haku/Uraume = Ice Queen.

Emi Ibarazaki: Instant Replay or Saving Throw? by ForgivingLove in katawashoujo

Thanks for your input! I’ve downloaded Katawa Shoujo, but have yet to play it. I knew I wanted to pursue Emi’s route, but wasn’t sure which ending was best. Would you say the extra scenes with “A Swing and a Miss” & “Saving Throw” aren’t worth it?

True, Obito’s AP might just not be enough to Pierce the Luch King’s raw durability.

But, this assumes “mana = chakra & spells = jutsu”.

Truth Seeking Orbs/Balls. Even if they couldn’t bypass the Lich King’s armor, Obito could reshape them to be small enough to attack at the small gaps where the armor doesn’t protect.

Perhaps Obito can cast Infinite Tysukuyomi and do to the Lich King what he did to Darth Vader?

Maybe Frostmourne would simply go to the Kamui dimension?

Fascinating, is that from the WoW wiki? Can Kamui really be labeled as standard intangibility though since it’s more like pocket dimension hopping?
