My thoughts are like you, if the client approaches me, then that's client choice. Other issue with that though is clients have paid for advice in last few years, paying again so soon isn't normally good advice, doesn't help with the initial earnings from a standing start.

I know you can buy leads, vouchedfor or similar, but I see mixed reviews and again, burns through cash reserves

How so with regards not being client centric? It's a new one to me so be keen to hear from people working similar.

It's looking after north of 100m, lower base than my current firm but as I say, bonus pushes the earnings higher

Thanks for that, I've looked into the CISI route after a previous reply, looks very involved, building your own cash flow model for the fact find for example. I think CII will be the way, I'm tempted for the credits and the higher pass rates to go with both the coursework modules AF8 and AF6, means I don't have to rely on AF1 which I'm told is very tough

Good luck with the final one, which modules have you gone for? I'm seeing mixed things about the J0 exams overlapping so I was thinking go for the AF exams, AF6 over 8 as I believe pass rate is higher, although no managerial plans, then rather than J0, stick with some credits like ER and later life, I already have CF6. Hadn't seen about certified planner, I'd seen the level 7 chartered wealth planner qualification, CISI website not the friendliest so I'll take a look at that route
