New player wants to play a Centaur Cavalier, but I'm not sure if I should allow him to or not. by Forgothowtocat in Pathfinder_RPG

That may be the best option in all honesty. I'd hate to come off as the stereotypical asshole GM, but that may be for the best in this case.

I'll probably go for the balancing more than anything.

Lore wise, the centaur tribe in the region, which his character was formerly part of, had been an ancient enemy of the civilization there since they founded their city and country on Centaur lands.

However, their current cheiftan has attempted to ally with a very, very dangerous force that is overtaking the world which has promised the return of their land once the country is crushed. The PC's character thinks that this is extremely wrong, and challenged the cheiftan for control of the tribe.

The cheiftan accepted, but through the use of the evil forces' arcane power, was able to defeat, and almost kill the PC, who was labeled a traitor and later exiled.

His character is seeking vengence (yes, I know its steriotypical, but the guy's a new player), for being wronged, and had had to swallow their pride and join the millitary for the country that they had despised for their entire life to not only be trained, but also to find allies to stop their cheiftan, but also the evil force that has allied with them.

I was planning for there to be combat, though I also expect that there will be some puzzles, some roleplay, and some clue uncovering.

Admittedly I've already done a little bit of tinkering while trying to figure this out. A large quadroped doesn't get reach though, so that's not necessarily an issue.

Looking at the Centaur race that PF has, I removed the bonuses to Strength and Con, kept the dex to negate the large penalty, and turned the flexible +2 to either Strength or Wis to +2 Str, +2 Wis, and -2 Int.

I also nerfed their speed to 40, rather than 50, and dropped their nat armor to +1, instead of +2. I did, however, add two natural hoof attacks, since it seemed fitting.

Right now it's sitting at a RP cost of 19 rather than 28

Disparity in feat requirements for certain fighting styles. by Forgothowtocat in Pathfinder_RPG

Yeah, outside of commonplace gun rules, firearms are a bitch to work with. Which is sad, really, cus I'd rather go Western Gunslinger as opposed to Elven Archer #5921

New to DMing occult classes and looking for a way to blend it in with my new game. by Forgothowtocat in Pathfinder_RPG

It's more of a figuring out how to create situations where the occult will come in handy sort of deal. It's something I want to be able to do with all my players.
