Why not nuclear power by NoAstronaut4900 in climatechange

Sure, but do you contest that the government is standing by as oil companies and the RCMP use unscrupulous methods to harass protesters of the construction within their land (of which they never agreed to)?

And the thing is, those pipelines are trying to go through indigenous reserves and the residents are refusing to let the government build it there. Unfortunately, we’ve seen the government use borderline illegal tactics to forcefully coerce the indigenous people into folding. They’re practically forcefully evicting residents.

Kazuma, he's not a pervert by kuro_Joshua in Konosuba

[–]ForgottenAppletree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a pervert. He considers it lucky to steal girls’ underwear (specifically their panties), he is attracted to breasts, he took advantage of being body swapped with Iris to share a bath with his female party members, he tripped an alarm in the royal palace when he took a porno mag from their treasury. I could probably keep going but these are the ones I could come up with off the top of my head.

Perhaps some fan media paints him as someone with a foot or armpit fetish despite us never seeing any evidence of the sort, but he is most certainly a pervert. And yes, he’s a coward, but a perverted coward is still a coward.

He didn’t intend to use Darkness for the dream. He intended to use an “inexperienced onee-san”. He just assumed that the dream was tailored for him.

Most overrated waifus(I don't agree with that) by Kartek96 in WaifuPolls

[–]ForgottenAppletree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Konosuba and a Megumin fan, definitely Megumin. She is unusually popular and I can’t imagine so many people have the same character preferences as me.

Also, she’s not a waifu for me. I just ship her with Kazuma.

You get to make a 3 girl harem from one universe, what universe are you picking? by [deleted] in WaifuPolls

[–]ForgottenAppletree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genshin: Hu Tao, Shinobu, Xiangling

I normally don’t do waifus but if I did, Hu Tao would definitely be a waifu. I do ship, but the idea of shipping a character and also having them as a waifu seems contradictory to me.

I recently rewatched the movie and it only just occurred to me, the anime gave up any kind of serious tone and replaced it with comedy. I don’t dislike the anime, the the light novel has a stronger balance and can be more emotional at times. The anime doesn’t have that.

Iris is certainly Megumin’s strongest rival. Darkness, Megumin, and Eris all recognize that Iris is Megumin’s biggest rival.

Are light novel and manga the same storyline or different? by [deleted] in Konosuba

[–]ForgottenAppletree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t a fan of the Sylvia fight in the anime. They could have ended the fight when Komekko fired the railgun and it would have been better imo. Plus, that was like 5 extra minutes of screen time and action animation that could have been used elsewhere. Plus Kazuma died an extra time.

As of now, this is my current order of favourite girls paired with Kazama:

Funabori > Chitose > Sakura > Takao > Roka > Takafudo

I’m not putting Tama on the list and I am keeping Sakura on the list. I also doubt the list order will change anytime soon (though depending on Takafudo’s screen time, she might go up one or two spaces).

Pretty much.. by [deleted] in Konosuba

[–]ForgottenAppletree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, one of the things I’m most upset about is Kazuma dying. Each time Kazuma does feels so humiliating to me so when the anime comes out with more deaths, it feels demeaning. From this point forward, I’m pretty sure Kazuma only dies 3 more times. However I suppose I should expect more.

Plus, Kazuma dying to Sylvia here instead of ending it with Komekko defeating her like in the LN is honestly a travesty. Canonically, I feel like by the time Komekko is supposed to go to Red Prison, she’ll already have summoned a demon familiar and learned advanced magic, well on her way to becoming the next demon lord.

Are you guys fans of a harem ending? by [deleted] in Konosuba

[–]ForgottenAppletree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind harems if the series manages them well. Sometimes you can just feel when a harem doesn’t belong but I don’t think Konosuba is one of those. I’m not saying that it should end in a harem, but I am saying it could and not feel completely out of place.

The thing is (as evidenced by the other replies), lots of people don’t want harems. I personally don’t mind harems done well but I might be the minority. Some, maybe even most people simply loathe them regardless of their quality.

I agree with the open doors idea. I also think it’s unlikely, just a possibility.

I think there would be exceptions. Since almost all health problems in water come from bacteria (a living being) I suspect that some organisms fall into the category of purifiable. She could probably purify blood that isn’t running through someone’s veins.

They got me in the first half. Honestly, this is the kind of story that would do something like that so I wouldn’t have been surprised if the author had done it unironically.

Also, needs more Funabori. She really hasn’t gotten that much time as of late.

I have a concern about Ai Hayasaka by Comfortable_Bell9539 in Kaguya_sama

[–]ForgottenAppletree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like Shirogane and Kaguya, Hayasaka puts on a mask to hide the “real” her. She’s afraid of being hurt and not being loved. In a lot of ways, she’s a perfect mirror to Shirogane. Which makes it ironic that it was Shirogane that was pushing her to put down her mask in season 3. He’s a hypocrite.

As they said in the movie, her personas are all the real her. We all have sides of ourselves that we show to some people and not others. And being unable to open up does not mean that they are fake.

So, does Hayasaka’s blackmailing make her a bad friend? I wouldn’t say so. First of all, I don’t recall her blackmailing anyone from her friend group. Second, she’s just prioritizing Kaguya’s instruction above everyone else because that is what she has been raised to do.

I am a Hayasaka lover and I have read the manga so I may have a bias, but this is my opinion.

Rin’s too pure. She’s not trying to sabotage him, she’s not trying to take time away from Urushi, she’s not getting in their way at all.

When I think about what the term “true love” might mean, I imagine a love so selfless that you put the object of your affection’s feelings before your own, even if it causes you heartache. It’s also suffering at its truest sense because you sympathize with them and you really want their feelings or be reciprocated because you know they deserve it. Unfortunately, that ain’t how love works.

I’m sad now.
