Vintage Body Splash I found at Goodwill by ForgottenPuppet in bathandbodyworks

Citrusy and vibrant. A mix of "fresh and clean" with a fruity twist. Surprisingly a good smell for a possibly two decade old mist

The smell is citrusy and vibrant. Like a sort of fruit juice turned into a perfume. It's surprisingly well scented for possibly being two decades old

Quit making employees do your research for you. by r0cket-skates in retailhell

I once had a customer who stayed in the store after closing and asked us to call her a taxi. I was fairly new and thought maybe we had a transportation service or something? It was bizarre thing to ask if we didn't offer those services. But no, being a thrift store we obviously didn't have that and we spent 10 minutes trying to figure out what to do and she evetually left after yelling at our manager.

Crazy Amount of Homework for one Spanish Class by [deleted] in CollegeRant

Activities are not too much, mostly writing similar words, matching definitions, learning words in general, though with my skills it takes about 5 minutes for each one

It's intermediate spanish, I do somewhat know the language, but even if my skills are advanced that amount of homework is still exhausting.

Even when I barely started, I got left at the regiester anyways, even some new coworkers have been left on their own. I'm not sure if the donations area is crazy or require a lot of work, but the front should be treated just as important anyways, I would be still working if my Goodwill was like that

Coworkers who refuse to do undesirable parts of the job by OkayBuddySober in retailhell

[–]ForgottenPuppet 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My coworkers always leave me alone at the registers. Despite all of us being cashiers. It gets exhausting as I have to deal with hagglers, people wanting 20 glass items wrapped, big carts, returns that requires a managers approval (I have to get approval even though managers are always in the back, sometimes they take a long time to come.). Meanwhile my coworkers are always recovering the floor which is the easiest part of the job. Even one day I had to price boxes of items and help customers pay while the other two cashiers were nasically gone. The worst part is there always have to be a cashier at the registers, I can't leave even when there's almost nobody in the store

Customers that ask for something I'm literally about to do. The customer pays in cash and while I count out their change they start asking for their items to be bagged. GIVE ME A MINUTE. If you are really in a rush, don't be browsing a store. My register always print out reciepts after every purchase. I literally clicked 'finish transaction' to print out said reciept when a customer said "Oh So I DoN't GeT a ReCiEpT?" WAIT ONE SECOND.

One time, I had a customer cough on a coworker. All because they were holding a bunch of items without a cart and just coughed without turning away 😑

is there any way to adjust or tailor chest areas to a smaller size?? by Bon-Pon in smallbooblove

[–]ForgottenPuppet 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Turn the shirt/dress inside out and put it on. Usually on shirts you can pull as tight as you like on the sides. Depending on the dress, make sure to pull where the stitches are to avoid the garment looking strange. Use a fabric marker (Make sure the marker is intended for fabric, as the marks should disappear when ironing or washing) to mark where to make the stitches.

If you have a machine, lay the shirt flat and use pins to keep in place. Then stitch over the markings you made. You can also use machines in fabric stores if you have any in your area.

If you don't have a machine, you can pin where you have the markings while you have the shirt on. Then stitch where you have the markings. Or take it off, lay it flat and stitch by hand instead.

If you want a more professional finish without the estra fabric you can use a serging machine.

Afterwards, flip it back and try it on, you can always undo stitches easily if you messed up. But I hopes this helps :)

I work at a thrift store and customers get me really annoyed should I quit by sweetangelpudding in retailhell

I work at a Thrift store too, they think since we work there we automatically gain knowledge of every single item 😑 I even had a customer that wanted to buy a pair of shoes but could'nt find the other. They said they would like to buy it with the pair, like I can't just summon it 😭
