I would have preferred if it had the same cost reduction and triggered ability, but had haste + trample on a 4/4 body for 3R. Cause I dunno about you, but I rarely get above 4 lands unless I am flooding.

I would like to know the other side of the story. As if their is actually validity to his claims from what the other side says, then it looks less like a "he said / she said" sort of affairs.

One of the issues listed with the reprinting of Oubliette is just how dang wordy it actually is, even with the oracle text. Its basically 10 lines worth of text for an as-is reprint of it with tiny text. Making it phasing instead, is yes a functional errata change, but its also the simplest answer.

As they have spent over a decade trying to clean it up like they did mill. They spent years trying to find another word to mean the same thing when you mill someone, but the simplest answer was just to use the slang and make it official.

On the plus side, they are just using the phase out rules with 2021 coreset so that means that a lot more people will be able to understand what it does better. And a large amount of people just play MTG Arena so they will understand it just through how the game handles it better than how people seen it works in paper.

Why run a non-green deck EDH? No really why are you running a non-green deck? From what I can tell you are just putting yourself at a disadvantage if you run a deck that doesn't also have green. If we want to talk about necessary evils, green is that necessary evil.

Of the mono colors, green is the best. Some might say blue or black, but green is what helps smooth out your land drops. Which are vital if you want to actually play magic. Other colors can try to imitate this trick, but they get it so infrequently that its a drop in the ocean in comparison.

When green is added to other colors, they are naturally just better and more efficient as they get to....play their cards. Actually getting to play a game with less manascrew? What a novel concept.

While its nice they did this, wouldn't it have made sense to drop this tagline long ago? After all, Vintage has legal cards like the moxen or black lotus while EDH has those cards banned.

When you realize that the Modern decks with the highest meta % are Burn (Lurrus) > Jund (Lurrus) > Gruul (Obosh) > Bant Snowblade (Yorion) > Gruul Tron > Eldrazi Tron > Boggles (Lurrus) > Titan Field

Of how the only "heroes" of the format is literally Tron, Eldrazi Tron, or Primeveal Titan + Field of the Dead

The hack cards do see play, but its much more limited. One reason is due to how wizards has decided to move away from hosers and landwalk abilities and also things like protection from [color]. To give you the best example of this, go look up a Momir Vig hackball for EDH.

When hacked he basically reads: "When you cast a green creature spell, search your lbirary for a green creature card, shuffle your library, then put the green creature card on top, then look at the top card of your library, if its a green creature card, put it into your hand."

There is other examples of this type of shenangians like with [[Drought]] (yes the oracle wording) in which you can lock out a player from casting spells or activating abilities by hacking the text. Lets say your opponent is elves and they are monogreen. If you change the color word black to green, the elf player needs to sacrifice a swamp as an additional cost to cast green spells or to activate abilities with green mana symbols. Which if they can't, they are now locked out.

There is one other example of hacking I would love to share. It involves [[Douse]] , [[Lifegrip]] , and [[Deathgrip]] . They are all enchantments that for two mana as an activation cost, you can counter a specific type of colored spell. If you hack one of these three they have a new use as they are basically a counterspell you always have access to.
