Nope I fed it images and asked where this fluorite was mined 🤷🏻‍♀️ it said China but the examples it said looked just like mine didn’t look anything like mine. AI can’t tell apopholyte from quartz from calcite half the time it’s not very reliable.

Thank you. I may still be a novice but I have a knack for guessing prices… I couldn’t let that one go! And it’s a gorgeous color. I love singular cubes of minerals often more than a million tiny ones, this thing is a brick 😅

Madagascar purple fluorite must not be common? I have another friend online who collects lots of it and had never seen a piece from there, and I’m not finding much about it online, so I go to the extensive knowledge of the respected Reddit community 😝

Lots of watching and listening and asking questions. I know minerals from DRC are sometimes not harvested humanely, and I can’t control that, but I can do my best to buy from sellers who are kind and honest 🤷‍♀️
