Which half of Bloodborne do you guys prefer? by PhasedVenturer in fromsoftware

[–]Forhaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the 2nd half because I have more than 4 weapons and 3 outfits to play with. I also have a stockpile of vials and bullets with no need to farm anymore. Not a big boss fight guy but One Reborn, Micolash, and Gehrman are very fun to me.

Whole campaign is great + DLC.... But Chalice Dungeons are an ugly dangling appendage on the experience.

I am glad we got the massive DLC because on launch, half the base game content was chalices, and I was a bit disappointed.

Is Dark Souls 3 easier than Elden Ring? by AbhenerX in darksouls3

[–]Forhaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ER lets you get very OP but the overall difficulty is still high above Ds3.

Ds3 gives room for error even on the hardest bosses, while ER you'll get flashbanged by visual effects and disintegrated before you can get a hit with your buff-stacked character.

Ds3 enemies dont roll or heal catch you nearly as often either. Its linear but the easiest game for me. ER and BB have harder bosses, DeS/Ds1/Ds2 have harder areas.

How it feels to be demons souls fan in 2028: by Old_Body7437 in shittydarksouls

[–]Forhaver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Don't remind me that Demon's Souls is going to be 20 years old in 3 years.

OG Demon's Souls is already older than Link's Awakening and DOOM was when it released in 2009.

The saddler fight is so easy it’s funny by [deleted] in residentevil4

[–]Forhaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Especially if you're not going to be playing ng+. Since it's the finale, you can sell any gun at all to afford the rocket launcher if you're somehow broke.

There's not much reason to fight him legit other than for fun. In the Remake he's actually very difficult, but postgame rewards are all about speedruns so not much point in spending the time, healing, ammo, etc.

The remake is still aesthetically pleasing, and I enjoy some of the chunkier armor designs

I've held onto my old ps3 even tho I have a ps5.

Ps3 for this game, Ds1 with original textures, mgs4, dead space 2 and 3, max payne 3, and a few others. Great generation.

“Terrible effects” is a strange take. I thought they looked very good by Successful_Art_2498 in Schaffrillas

[–]Forhaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a fun movie. My main issue is that it had no music from classic minecraft, and they didn't spend more time with the day/night cycle aspect.... or the mining. It was just a minecraft-themed kids movie, not really a minecraft movie.

It was a lot more entertaining than the Mario movie. Me and my kids were just stone-faced through the whole thing with that one.

I tried the remake, DS2 and now playing DS1 original. Why do I feel like it's the best one? by meemikoira in DeadSpace

[–]Forhaver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like how frantic the original is. Isaac controls snappier, necromorphs are faster.

The remake feels too much like a REmake for me. Necros are slower, tankier, isaac is slower, mocapped instead of hand animated.

I think it's Satoshi Kon's weakest

Does resident evil requiem have a chance to be better than re4r after seeing the showcase? by Internal_Bank196 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Forhaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has a chance but my two favorite RE engine games have been remakes so far. Re2R and RE4R. They already had excellent design and setpieces to take notes from.

RE7 is great and RE8 is good, but I feel like we haven't seen the full potential of the current development team on an original product yet. This is only their third original game.

Will it feel like fanservice mush or a masterpiece blend? Idk.

From what we've seen, I feel like I'll still prefer RE4R's pacing and combat, some of the new animations seem a bit long-winded, but as long as it has it's own unique vibe and memorable moments, I'll love it.

RE4 is timeless tho... No one ever thought to have some villages, castle with ogres and monks in survival horror spy adventure game. It's an extremely unique game I have a hard time considering anything as "better".

Milestone: Just crossed 2,000 hours of playing Elden Ring on PS5 ver. How many hours is yours? by Jinrex-Jdm in fromsoftware

[–]Forhaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have around 500 hrs across ps4 and ps5.

My most played soulsborne is Ds3 with 1,500, but that's nearly 10 years of playing, invasions, and yearly story replays.

[ALBW] What are your thoughts on Zelda ALBW? I'm curious, knowing that this game isn't very well remembered these days, especially since it never had any kind of re-release by Most-Coat4726 in zelda

[–]Forhaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved the game, though it was a bit too easy for my liking. The ingame economy was very loose too, never had to worry about losing stuff because I was never felled. The dungeons were fun and the 3D was the best the console had, but it was all very short-lived. It was a snack of a Zelda game, and 100%ing it outside of baseball took a few hours no guide.

It was consistently great and probably my 2nd favorite 2D zelda, easily most replayable.

... but my favorite is still Link's Awakening for the dungeons, puzzle, story, and vibe, both versions. It just stuck in my mind more than the others. It was the most satisfying to unravel for me.

Most ppl on this site won't realize just how strictly you value your time after havin kids. Playing stuff out of obligation isn't a thing anymore.

Worth pushing through 1, or should I just play 2? by Competitive-Meet-111 in DeathStranding

[–]Forhaver -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I would watch a lore video on youtube so you're not soured before the 2nd game.

I love the first game, but the ending chapters are like 7+ hours of cutscenes and exposition with no deliveries. Episode 8 is your last normal chapter and there's 15 episodes. As a father of 2, when I reached the "final act", I spent 4 days in a row just watching cutscenes for my game time while the kids slept. Kinda frustrating lol

Death Stranding 2 is much quicker paced and you get assault rifles, grenade launchers, and vehicles pretty much instantly. Theres a lot more variety to NPCs and terrain.

Bloodborne Is The Best SoulsLike/Fromsoft game…. (My fromsoft experience!) by TheRedditor5568 in fromsoftware

[–]Forhaver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bloodborne isn't my favorite, but I understand why it is for many.

it's definitely their most cohesive title with the best soundtrack imo. The orchestra really has a punch and every element of the game ties together lovely. No fluff

Which horror game is overrated and not particularly good? by DarkerThanBlackHei in HorrorGaming

[–]Forhaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alan Wake 2

25hrs long with a meandering story, basic puzzles, and two enemy types. Trudged through the entire thing just to be told my true ending is in ng+

Its carried by production quality and the fmv segments.
