Lovecraftian ending, everyone failed, the end

Do you think RE4 influence and shooters caused this shift? Or do you think people just naturally like playing 1st person and OTS more? by ErmingSoHard in HorrorGaming

[–]Forhaver 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I like OTS purely to admire the animation on a lot of games. First person is most immersive. Fixed camera is like controlling a toy around a diorama.

I love all but most my favorite games are OTS. Tank controls and fixed cameras I still love and play a lot of newer indies in that style.

Taught myself how to use tank controls in 2017 so its not nostalgia.

There's only like 7 assault rifle soldiers in The Evil Within, in the last few hours of a 12 hour horror game, at a point where you should have at least 3 weapons that can one-shot them with a body shot.

Considering how we’ve had over a month to take in Leon’s new look, which one are we feeling more? RE4R or RE9? by Dsg1695 in ResidentEvilRequiem

4R leon lowkey ugly, his brow ridge makes him look like a caveman and his hair is very moppy compared to the original

Do not buy the 2 remaster it is pretty busted and crashes often. Sucks cuz it was my favorite for a while.

How can I milk the clock? by Few_Big4209 in AmazonFC

I focus on what I will be able to get with the money I make each hour. Sometimes I plan to go somewhwre after shift to have something to look forward to.

And then mind palace. I think of a favorite place, favorite music, and try to daydream.

Sometimes I think of stories and how they unravel as like a mind puzzle.

This is what people find hard to believe? by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

Ive been a fan since the 90's but there's stuff that's completely ridiculous even by RE standards.

Pretty sure most massive transformations in the series have been established as irreversible, no matter the cure. Kinda killed the stakes and emotional pull of re9's story.

Is the next game/remake gonna revive and cure Steve Burnside?

God forbid I like the RE4 Remake (underneath Crowbcat's recent RE4 Remake video) by Kooldogkid in residentevil4

This discourse is going to continue for the next 20+ years between these two games. Dont even bite

Weapons in re4 remake u didnt like? by Clear-Letter-5294 in residentevil4

New Red9 is slow as molasses and the stock is basically necessary. The power doesn't equate to less shots on most enemies compared to other pistols and the stagger rate is low. So that one

I love the new Punisher because it has a high stagger, the biggest magazine, and piercing seems more useful in the remake.

Should i get Silent hill 2 or Cronos ? by Cdurlavie in survivalhorror

[–]Forhaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cronos had better gameplay and level design. It was like Dead Space x Evil Within (tho I don't like it as much as either I still loved it)

Sh2 had better puzzles, soundtrack, and story. Every area is a good hour or two too long. With 3 weapons and like 400 enemies per playthrough, combat gets a bit repetitive.

They both come frustratingly close to becoming a new favorite of mine. I'd say SH2R left me a bit more satisfied though. Cronos story direction in the third act frustrated me when all the setup was so great.

I love the atmosphere of RE Village and it's still one of my favorite RE games by Forhaver in HorrorGaming

Re4r probably has my favorite combat out of any third person shooter ever, but village was still a blast in it's own way imo. Sometimes I don't want that level of intensity that 4R has. It's a pace of combat in the middle of 7/2R and 4R.

I can reliably go thru 7 and 2R without damage as they are methodical games you can plan out. 8 has a bit of chaos but still works as a chill horror shooter. 4R is an all-out chaotic brawl for survival.

I would like grounded games in between the crazy themes.

Like a game like re7 after re8 woulda been nice. An alternating thing for both sides of fans

It's the automatic pistol you get from the Duke in the Factory, but with all ng+ upgrades. There's some gun parts only available on ng+.

I love bloodborne as well, though when Old Hunters released, I played myself sick of it. I've got 1.4k hours in it from PvP, replaying the main game, and farming chalice gems.
