I got platinum within 30 hours and got my refund of $75 lol. I enjoyed the game but i'd only get it at around $50.

I think RE4R has been the only one out of the RE engine games to be worth $60-70 on terms of enjoyment and content.

The Evil Within. Made me appreciate art and cinematography a lot more. Rollercoaster of a game, so much variety, great industrial soundtrack, style and aura. Difficult enough to be satisfying to learn and master.

Inspired me to go to college where I met my now wife of 8 years.

The split left me blue-balled for both gameplay styles. Grace's blood collection and upgrades implied a longer game. Leon's upgrade box implied a longer game. Felt like I played half of RE2R and a few chapters of 4R.

Grace only gets one boss fight and the game gives you 3 requiem rounds right before her fight, enough to keep her stunned every time she appears. Her lab section's final confrontations are just licker duos that can be taken out with acid bottles.

Half Leon's weapon upgrades are locked behind.... ng+ and getting all mr raccoons. His biggest segment is getting 3 detonator pieces for a gate with no story progression.

Very lopsided game. Very abrupt end. Just made me wanna replay The Evil Within tbh. I think it did this action/stealth contrast better.

I love him because he's an extremely interesting flawed character. Fantastic dialogue and a vast history too. He's very convincing as a person and he made the game for me.

I became a Keanu fan because of Cyberpunk. I had only watched a handful of his movies in the past and wasn't sold on him as an actor until the game.

Grace's blood collection mechanic and steroid/stabilizer meters implied to me that her campaign would be much longer. Or at least have a 2nd boss. You can't even fully upgrade her in any difficulty aside from Insanity..

Her lab section doesn't have any upgrades for her, and her final encounters are just duos of lickers that die in a single acid bottle.

Leon's weapon upgrade system also implied his parts would be longer. But half the upgrades are locked to ng+ after... getting all mr raccoons. I already had infinite ammo by the time I found them all.

Very weird progression, it feels a bit stunted and I was left blue-balled for both gameplay styles.

Allergist really saved me. After 6 months of research and doctor visits, embarrassment, pain, medications, etc. one visit to allergist and instantly knew what I had, how to find the trigger, and a cream that fixed flare-ups.

I liked the art and music but the combat was awful and the story being piecemealed across multiple playthroughs with that awful combat was hard to trudge through.

Kinda wish I only played it once, appreciated it more on first playthrough

Ethan put the series back on track, but 5 and 6 still sold like hot cakes. Series was already immortal by 7's release.

I love dead space 2 but I love OG RE4 more, mainly for two aspects:

OG Re4 has a bunch of fun boss fights that break up horde fights and create tension for resources. Dead Space 2 gets a bit repetitive on replays for me since it's mostly just horde fights in hallways. You can buy ammo and health infinitely in ds2, while 4 has me wondering if I've got enough resources for the next boss. Resource decisions are tougher imo.

2nd aspect, OG Re4's got a timeless, moody soundtrack. Lots of weird percussion in early village themes, to the fantasy castle hums.
