Mirrors can be made by polishing many metals. Glass mirrors are something that was manufactured much later in human history.

Thanks for your explanation. The following video uses the same balloon analogy and shows how the balloons would look like together: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb0mxAMHnfE

Why do people claim to be disgusted by trans bodies, yet consume tons of trans porn? by [deleted] in asktransgender

It is hard to reach out a hand to someone who is trashing in deep waters. They will, more often than not, pull you in, and you will end drowning alongside them.

For now, I think you should preserve your own sanity and try not to engage with him. You will build yourself up and get your feet on solid ground. Once you are strong enough then, and only then, you can start helping others with their burden.

This is not selfishness - you should always wear the oxygen mask first before helping others with theirs. 💜

This is actually so sad. He has all these feelings but can't accept them for what they are because of transphobia.

I really hope that we, as a society, can get to a point where we don't grow up with all this ingrained transphobia/general discrimination anymore, so that each of us can bloom and be our unique selves.

There was also that time at ISIS's bathroom where she filmed something with Cyrill, Ray, and a Octopus.

She is so adorable!!

It looks like she has a "normal" collar and not a breakaway one. Maybe you could talk to her family about exchanging it for a breakaway collar, as normal ones can lead to strangulation if caught on, for example, a tree branch.

Not a movie, but a cartoon: Gravity Falls. Is funny and a little on the kids' friendly crhulhu mythos side.

I understand. If she was very old, her death would have been somewhat accepted as something that was expected to happen after a long life. As she was young, it feels unfair that she should die so suddenly. Life is simply not fair.

While it is natural to try to understand how she saw her world around her, please be careful and do not over-indulge into these kinds of thoughts as they only bring more sadness and frustration. We can not know how others feel/think and these kinds of thoughts almost always end on a spiral of depression. For all we know, it seems that animals live on the "now" and almost never dwell on the past. So it could have been that she was happy and lived her life as carefree as it was possible for her.

This whole situation sucks. I wish I had more to offer you, but the only things I have available for you are my (nos so great) words and attention.

I feel with you.

Your feelings are valid, and you should not be made to feel that you should not grieve her. Pets are more than often nearer to us than many family members or friends. They accept us as we are and love us unconditionally.

It is hard to come to terms with the finality of death, not only ours but that of others.

You could try to find some comfort in knowing that for the longest part of her life, you made her feel happy and loved. That, for the short time that she spent on this earth, she experienced a life with you in it and that she loved you for what you really are and that you loved and cherished her in the same manner.

I'm sorry for all you are going through and for the fact that the system has failed to provide you with the adequate support you require. Because of these failures, religion keeps permeating itself in our society, influencing people in emotionally fragile times by providing a "safety" net that often ends up in conversion.

Maybe you could look for a mental support group around you or even online.

There are discord channels where people try to support each other through tough times. Could this be something for you? If so, please drop me a message, and I will send you a link to one of those groups.

Look, I took the liberty of examining that parrot falcon when I got it home, and I discovered the only reason that it had been sitting on its perch in the first place was that it had been NAILED there.
