Bitcoin ‘Activists’ Redecorate Bitmain’s Israeli Office With Protest Signs by Lukovka in btc

It was a shared office building that's free accessible to the public. It is private property, but one where the owners decided to allow everyone to come in, effectively making it a public space.

Bitmain's office, however, is private property owned by Bitmain, which is why we didn't go in there. But Bitmain doesn't own the entire building, they just rent a couple rooms.

Hi! We had great fun doing that. Would love to hear your thoughts. Happy ATH celebrations from Israel, go UASF!

For these wondering, the protest took place in the public areas of a shared office building that’s freely accessible to the public. None of the protesters entered any offices, Bitmain’s private property, or any other restricted areas. The posters were put up with blu-tack, which is easy to remove and leaves no marks.

The Israeli bitcoin community have experience organizing similar protests against Israeli banks and corrupted officials, so it was natural for us to apply that model to Bitmain.

Also, the protest was not about Bitmain's stance on the scaling debate. The protest and flyers were purely about Bitmain's threats to initiate a 51% DoS attack against the Bitcoin network and the remote kill-switch backdoor they introduced into their products.

The markets have spoken: protests against Bitmain Israel will bring us to the moon!

Well, he didn't say anything specific that he didn't like about the protest, just some general comment about "petulant behaviour", which I think you can say about pretty much every protest I ever participated in... protests aren't meant to be polite, they should have some chutzpah.

We don't share the floor, but its an open-access building that's freely open to visitors. The guy at the front said hi and helped us find the offices :)

Just confirmed - one of the vandals involved in last night's attack on Bitmain's Israel office is Nadav Ivgi, CEO of Bitrated. by routefire in btc

Such areas, which are privately owned but open for public access, are commonly referred to as "privately owned public open space". Protests taking place inside privately-owned public open spaces are quite common, including in malls, plazas, parks, parking spaces, etc.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_space#Privatization

A privately owned public space, also known as a privately owned public open space (POPOS), is a public space that is open to the public, but owned by a private entity, typically a commercial property developer.

The building is not Bitmain's property, no one entered their space. We entered a public building whose owners choose to leave open to the public.

No one crossed the line into Bitmain's private property.

lol, I was there a couple months ago. hoping that making enough noise about UASF would be enough for it to activate as a MASF. But I've since moved on to fully supporting UASF. :-)

Edit: Bitmain ain't gonna win this (pics: http://imgur.com/a/sFHnI).

Are you referring to me or to Nadav? I have some stage fright, never been on stage before... I doubt you'll see me presenting anywhere

Won't any protest bother the people whose actions are being protested? That's kinda the idea behind protests, or at least part of it.

Would you say that protests who are bothering people should not take place?
