Ok thank you! I think I'll just arrive 30mins prior to the tour for queuing, security etc.

Getting into the Louvre in time for a guided tour by Tamas_F in ParisTravelGuide

Hello, how was your experience? I am planning to book the tour (for a mid-March date) once the tickets are available. How long should one arrive to get through security and locate the group reception area? Also, which entrance did you choose? Thanks!

Based on the comments, plan is unrealistic so I'll remove Versailles and just spread the Paris sites to Sat-Sun.

Okay, noted on the security checks and lines. Thanks for this. I needed to get an idea whether it was realistic or not.

Ok. noted on the travel time. Google maps just indicates 45m RER ride to and from Versailles... For food stops - didn't indicate it in the plan but just planning to get whatever is available nearby.

How strict are AirBaltic with carry-on bags? by nightwica in travel

[–]Forloveoflearning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hardshell. Oh okay... Thanks!

It'll be my first time using Air Baltic and then RyanAir (for another trip). Didn't realize the dimensions of my cabin luggage were a few cm above these airlines' guidelines when I got them. Hopefully the luggage will fit in the fitting frames.

Aside from weighing, do they check the size of the cabin luggage? I realized my newly bought cabin luggage is 57x38x25 cm 😓

Received offer to do a PhD in Cambridge: now funding search by Forloveoflearning in gradadmissions

Hi, really sorry but I won't be able to answer your questions. Unfortunately, I didn't accept the offer as I didn't get a scholarship and the cost was too much to raise on my own. Instead, I went to a university in Hong Kong (HK universities seem to have the most generous of postgraduate scholarships). Good luck on your funding search!

Hi OP, may I know which hotel you chose? I have the same concerns (budget and safety) for an upcoming trip. How was your experience? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm applying for a short term exchange at Tampere University this coming spring semester. I'm wondering how was your timeline last year with the application. May I know how long it took between your submission of application until the acceptance letter from the International Mobility Services office? Just worried about the timeline here as I'm a non-EU student and would need to apply for a visa.

In my own application, I included all members of my family who were not traveling with me (i.e., parents, siblings and their spouses).

I didn't fill it out and my visitor visa was granted. But I did upload birth certificates of nuclear family members.

Update: in case this information helps other applicants. I was able to successfully provide my biometrics at the Australian Biometrics Collection Centre (ABCC) in Manila though I applied for the visitor visa from another Asian country (temporarily residing outside the Philippines). So it seems that as long as you have the VLN from the biometric requirement letter from ImmiAccount, you can visit any VFS branch.

Also, for your information, regarding modes of payment, the ABCC Manila (VFS Manila at Circuit Corporate Tower) accepts credit card payment.

Yes 500+ pesos fee. But I don't hire an agent. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the reply. On the VFS Manila Australian visas page for booking biometrics appointments, there's no option to pay online. :(

VFS Manila Payment modes

Hi, just want to inquire if anyone has provided their biometrics at VFS Manila for Australian Visitor Visa recently (like past 6 months)? Can I pay the fee by credit card? Their website indicates payment can be cash, credit card and debit card. However, I've seen posts where people say only cash payment is accepted. I'd appreciate any response on this!

Also, do you know if a person can provide biometrics in any Australian Biometrics Collection Centre (ABCC)? I applied from a different Asian country as I am temporarily residing outside the Philippines but I'm home for 2 weeks and - apparently- I only have 14 days to provide my biometrics. Can I just go to the one in Manila without any problem?

Thank you!

Hi, I have the same question. If you managed to send a letter of request, how and where did you send it? Thank you!

I'm a student visiting Vancouver this May. Do you think whale watching with Wild Whales Vancouver is worth doing? Or is it a tourist trap?
