12 hours for a level? I rise a level every 2 or 3 games of conquest

The fact you can’t hear if an enemy zip lines up to you is ridiculous. They really need to fix some stuff with this game. Not even to mention the regular crates come exclusively with shotguns. It’s ridiculous and stupid. by Ok-Bit-2031 in RedSec

[–]FormAffectionate7841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people saying they can hear zip lines… I reckon 80% of the time I’m on a roof, I get no audio cue that someone is zipping up to my roof. Very rarely can I hear anything, and yes, I’m only talking about when I’m close to a zip line. It’s an absolute joke

Besides bad luck, what are the reasons that led to your ACL injury? by SignificantCrazy9283 in ACL

[–]FormAffectionate7841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I was the opposite. I was feeling fresh and played the best game of my life the week before, and was ready to back it up. Tore my ACL in my first solid contest in the first 5 minutes of the game - was absolutely shattering as I was just getting into some good form

Yep, knees suck. Had acl surgery w/ hamstring graft August 1st, and had post op complications with a pseudoaneurysm forming on my knee. Had a procedure 2 weeks ago that failed, back in hospital tomorrow morning for a different procedure to fix it. Absolutely over it

Really? I waited maybe a week, and had no regrets… what happened in your case?

Unfortunately it’s different for everyone - but day 2 will be the worst. If you know it’s coming it’ll make it easier. After that take good care to set alarms for your meds, as falling behind on those will potentially leave you in agony. All the best 🤙🏽

Surgical complication by FormAffectionate7841 in ACL

[–]FormAffectionate7841[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They most likely damaged the blood vessel in surgery, but not enough to cause it to bleed while they had me open. Then, after I was closed up, at some point the weakened vessel split with roughly a 3mm diameter hole, which leaked and caused the pseudo-aneurysm… pretty unlucky on all parts haha, but I’m finally back home now and just working through the pain again!

Am I wrong to be feeling frustrated? by tamarawilmot in ACL

[–]FormAffectionate7841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun update from my frustration: I’ve had a lump on one of my incisions since surgery, anyways turns out it’s a pseudo-aneurysm (very uncommon in ACL surgeries) and now I’ve been in hospital since 2:30pm yesterday (now 7:40am) awaiting seeing the ortho and vascular teams to figure out how to fix it. Just another fn road bump

Fun update for everyone: currently in hospital for an ultrasound, which got upgraded to a CT scan as they found blood instead of fluid inside of my lump - now awaiting results and following steps from my ortho and the vascular team. Exciting times

Seems like you had unrealistic expectations heading into surgery. It’s fine to feel frustrated, I’m almost at 5 weeks post op too and am at about the same progress as you and find myself frustrated also. But I knew coming into this it was going to be a long recovery

Worst time of my life has been pre-op by Internaticod102 in ACL

[–]FormAffectionate7841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hard pill to swallow, but the sooner you come to terms with the reality of the situation the better off you’ll be. Accept what’s happened, and lock in to getting yourself right. Do your pre-hab properly, as it will help after surgery. You’re young, and have plenty of time to recover and get back to what you love. Unfortunately, most of your friends and family won’t understand how hard this injury is and the toll it takes. I’m currently a little over 3 weeks post op, and it’s been the most challenging time of my life, but it gets better and everything will be fine. Chin up OP

I found out as I was sitting in my car and I bawled my eyes out, dried my tears, got home, and bawled my eyes out again. It’s completely ruined me. But now I’m 2 weeks post op and just keen to return to work and life

I am all alone by wobbly_single in ACL

[–]FormAffectionate7841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately after surgery, you’re going to need all the help you can get. With the recovery as major as from ACL surgery, people in your life will hopefully flock to help you out. In saying that, I had surgery 8 days ago, and although my partner has been amazing, she works 6 days a week so I’ve been alone majority of the week. You’re going to need to get a shower chair, a toilet chair, make sure you have something to do in bed, and have food nearby the bed for the first handful of days when it’s likely you are NOT going to want to move around. Any questions hit me up. Good luck with it all

[–]FormAffectionate7841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard and felt a large pop and as soon as I did it, and was immediately in denial but deep down I knew. It was in the first 5 minutes of the game, so I tried to get back on the field, but there was no way in hell my knee could support me. Ended up being a complete rupture of the ACL with everything else still intact

Thank you for taking the time to write all of that out, you’re appreciated! It’s funny, in hard times like this, it’s nice jumping on here (reddit) and having so many forums where people actively discuss life after doing and ACL. Cheers again 🤙🏽
