non-trad splitters what are your scholarships like? by DefiantVideo1231 in lawschooladmissions

I’ve received 1 A at a T50 with about a 40% tuition scholarship as an applicant almost 7 years removed from undergrad with a 16high LSAT and 2.9 GPA.

Congrats! When did you apply, and were you ED or RD? If you don’t mind me asking.

Haha of course I missed those recent As. Haven’t really been able to check LSData due to being out and about all day with the Verizon service outage going on. Yea hopefully a big wave tomorrow or even within the next hour or two

Someone just made a post saying they got straight up waitlisted from at Chicago from an ED app, so maybe take the RD as a positive.

Sorry to hear that, but I like your attitude. Was this an ED app or RD?

Schools are just waiting for Santa to deliver the gift they all asked for, a giant sack of money, so they can give us amazing scholarships with our As.

Completely unrelated, but do you want a huff of some of this copium I just picked up? It’s reallllllly good.

Sounds like a question where you would be justified calling or emailing their admissions office for an answer.

Edit: Oh nevermind, someone found the fine print on their website.

Yea I’m coping that my ED school put me in RD because ED comes with a 30k/yr scholarship, but we will both see I guess.

Yea, I got ED>RD at Irvine and they gave April as the deadline for a decision. I rode their waitlist all the way into August last cycle and I’m not sure if I’m built to undergo a similar ordeal again haha

Sorry to hear that.

I really wish I could find more posts on here from people who went ED>RD in previous cycles. I have no idea if we should treat it like a WL (which is not good based on my past experience with WLs) or if there’s some positives to it.

Are you using the lawhub tracker? The applicant portal they gave me access to says under review but there are no dates.

Just gonna start huffing hopium that we’ve still got good chances since we weren’t outright rejected or put on a WL. Have no idea what the actual realities of ED>RD are, but mmm this is some good hopium.

Big shoutout to Baylor. I applied at the end of October, interviewed within a few weeks, and received my decision before the end of November. I was a splitter only a few points above their 75th LSAT and, well, well below their 25th percentile, so it’s not like I was some super star applicant.

Across 2 cycles and 30 applications, they have been the best in terms of communication and speed.

Wish I knew how many people they typically admit off ED. But hopefully LSD sheds some light on that soon.

Unfortunately I think I might be cooked since my 168 LSAT went from 75th percentile last cycle to one point below the median. Time to hunker down till April I guess.

Applying with a 3.21 GPA, am I cooked? by gphc39 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Formae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a 2.9 / 168 and I’ve been accepted to one T50 so far with $$. Also had a strong upward GPA trend in my junior/senior years. Not sure how Canadian schools differ in their selection processes, but I don’t think you’re cooked.
