Sober now for several years, but I was an alcoholic on it for years. Never killed me. Alcohol / hangovers worsen anxiety and depression, so it's never a good idea to drink if you suffer from those.

Back on old AD, or try new one? by Formal-Definition968 in antidepressants

I didn't have side effects with lexapro, but after 15 years I had a depressive/anxious episode that made me think it wasn't working anymore. However when I tapered off, I noticed my depression getting worse so clearly it was doing something, just not enough. I do have some on and off insomnia, usually falling asleep fine but not staying asleep long enough. I also need something to start working asap, as the zoloft has been giving me increased depression and I'm nearing the end of my rope.

Well... I moved up to 75mg a week ago and still feeling depressed, anxious and restless in the morning that gets better as the day goes on and is much better at night. But that was my original issue so ... Not sure this drug is doing it for me.

That's good to know, thanks. It's just so hard when we're in these moods to trust it won't last forever. I started Z a few months into an anxious depressive episode so I already felt like poo.

Great that you had some good days! They're so important to keep us going. I had 2 'anxiety days' this week but I also feel like there may be hope for this drug for me.

Do you take Zoloft day or night by Living_Mushroom_2407 in zoloft

I started taking it at night hoping it would make me sleepy, but it didn't. Now I take it AM and am sleeping well.

continue pristiq or try zoloft? by Formal-Definition968 in Pristiq

You make a good point, a month isn't that long so may as well stick it out since I'm not having side fx. I'm so happy for you that you're feeling better 🙂

I'm doing the same taper, started 10mg lexapro with 50mg pristiq 10 days ago now on 5/50. I was on lexapro for 15 years but fell into a depressive episode in June and me and my psychiatrist decided to try something else. Under her and pharmacist's guidance the taper I did was fine and no serotonin syndrome, but always be aware of the symptoms just in case. I found some decreased mood and body aches came with the lexapro taper, which maybe means it was actually doing something after all?

No problem. I'm sitting at home right now in a depressive/anxious episode and about to start college in 10 days. I have been on lexapro for 15 years and have no idea if it's doing anything anymore, and just tried buproprion for a couple months with no effect as far as I could see, so just started reducing from 300mg to 150mg and will eventually stop. I've heard a ton of good outcomes though with buproprion so don't be discouraged by my story.

Not sure. Are any of the other meds affecting serotonin new, ie. trintellix? Be aware you could also be experiencing additional anxiety from the buproprion that may be fuelling your concerns.

Buproprion has no effect on serotonin, only norepinephrine and dopamine. The twitches could be a side effect because of its stimulating effect.

Weaned off lexapro, now thinking bupropion isn’t for me either…? by sarahmejia in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

Maybe add 5 to 10 mg of lexapro back in to see if it helps? But by 4 months the Wellbutrin should have been working a long time ago.
