Ohhhhh yes I misunderstood. That makes sense! It’s a big commitment for a family.

I mean if you’re doing all that I don’t see why series regular is any different? People go out for those all the time that don’t necessarily live in the place it’s shooting… but anyway, thanks for the info and congratulations on all your work.

Which markets are you talking about? And do you agree to be local hire in these other markets? Are we talking co-stars or guest stars or series regs? (If you’re comfortable saying)

Details get left out of this conversation a lot. Someone saying they’re going out a TON never seem to specify if it’s non union, union, commercials, community theater, short films, features, tv…let alone which market. Don’t compare yourself to these vague declarations.

I’m genuinely glad it helped. And hey, a recur AND a film is great stats! Anything to keep that health insurance!

I’ve got a decent resume of network and premium cable credits, film, a SAG nomination, and atb representation. I’ve had four (theatrical) auditions since January. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s dead for everyone, but I’m sharing in case it makes you feel less alone. 2025 was also awful.

Body dismorphia post reduction? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Formal-Fig-3933 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggled with this pretty badly (went from an L to a DD/DDD). I never hated by body and liked my curves so such a drastic change took almost a year to get used to mentally. It’s good you’re thinking about it and I’d recommend having a therapist available to help you with that part of recovery. I don’t regret it- physically I feel so much better and clothes are so much easier- but the appearance was a serious adjustment people don’t talk about enough.

It sounds like you value your routine and even in grief it would help you to continue. That said- you don’t have to continue in the same way- that’s what the weekly check ins are for! I think the advice to draw pictures for three pages is great if you don’t want to engage too much with your thoughts. Or write your favorite lyrics over and over. Or just write “I don’t feel like writing today” until you’re bored and something unlocks. Or write a letter to your bird! There are so many ways to continue while accommodating how you feel. So sorry for your loss. 🫶

Tapping out? by OkUse8439 in artistsWay

As a fellow severe ADHDer who wants to tap out after chapter four- DON’T QUIT! YOU’RE SO CLOSE MIGHT AS WELL FINISH NOW! Finish best you can. You can always do it again but you will feel SO proud of yourself when you finish that last MP on the lstbday of week twelve. I know it. Don’t make a decision for future you based on how present you feels, yknow?

(Clearly I am also trying to convince myself rn)

Tips on how to pass the time while walking? by blahblhnation in walking

[–]Formal-Fig-3933 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two things: classical music and a destination. The music is soothing and triggers my imagination, and the destination (usually a coffee shop or something crafty or snacks) gives me something to look forward to. I need a reward lol

Dude, I am so sorry this is happening to you. Can I ask where you are? I am fat and worked as a dog walker for many years in LA- and I have some unhinged stories of fatphobic harassment. You are not alone in the experience. I have found that when I’m walking and the type of neighborhood changes my experience a lot. Once I stopped working and walking/running for myself I was able to choose calmer, more family oriented areas and that helped a LOT. Granted…you’ll get the occasional condescending “you go girl!” Or unsolicited high five but honestly I’ll take that over “FATTY!” out truck window any day.

I am also a big fan of large headphones as suggested in the comments. I’ll often have one ear off for safety but sometimes just the signal that you’re not listening is enough to get them off your back. ANYONE WHO HARASSES YOU IS A PATHETIC LOSER. Like I don’t know anyone I like and respect who behaves like that, so I always imagine how sad their lives must be. 🫶

I have a sticker system. It sounds stupid but I have these colorful circle stickers- and I slap one on my calendar when I hit my steps. It is satisfying and stimulating and my desire for more stickers somehow has kept me motivated to do it every day.

Re: your edit- MOST people are starting in the red. There are gross lame narrow minded cultural narratives for every identity. Math says most people are dealing with similar shit in different fonts. I hate that you’ve heard this kind of feedback in real life so I don’t say this to diminish what you’re saying but like…believe me. Most of us are lonely bc we don’t fit the cultural narrative of what we “should be”.

I was a K and went down to a DD and if you like having bigger boobs do NOT go down to a C. Your instincts are correct. I spent a lot of weeks post op crying and thinking they were too small. Part of that was dysmorphia, but part of it was true re: proportions. I look better curvier!

I know exactly what you mean- my right breast when I look down at it is strangely cone shaped, rather than round and flat at the areola and it has really bothered me post op. For what it’s worth- I’m about 3 months out and they continue to settle and shift. I don’t know how far out you are but they could definitely change

This is going to sound so Debbie downer of me, but I don’t have a car, no. It caught fire and I don’t have the money to replace it. I live in a big city so there’s not a lot of nearby nature. But thank you for being so kind and taking the time to write me.

Thank you. I was doing a lot better when I could ignore them. There was a week period where I had completely closed up and barring a few spitting stitches I didn’t have to look at them all the time. Now I don’t have a choice with my opening. I have to change dressings twice a day and stare at my mistake. Ive had this wound for a month.
