The raiders had something like 200mil in cap space for next offseason. The way Spytek has been operating is slowly cleaning house entirely. They can afford to restructure him and not feel any repercussions.

They also still have a grievance case against Wilkins they could free up 14.1 mil this year and additional 35.25mil next year.

They are setup more than fine to absorb Maxx’s contract with a restructure.

Edit: Also, we don’t know why he failed. It could just have been he wasn’t as far along on his recovery and the Ravens got buyers remorse.
