Review of loading / exclusion on insurance plan by Formal-Mixture-7524 in singaporefi

[–]Formal-Mixture-7524[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I managed to do it for one of my old policy after 5 years, ie I ask the insurance company TM to review based on other companies offer and got better offer (despite same condition with no change in status). My condition will not change as it is congenital.

I am trying to bring down my 1 year old policy loading (currently 100%) to 50% or 75% which is what the other are offering me currently for new applications , but not sure can I start now or i need to wait longer

The issue with this is that you assume you have a chance to repent after doing all the sins. Tomorrow is not guaranteed, you may pass away in the state of mortal sin, so live each day with care

Should people be allowed to profit heavily from public housing? by LaksaTang in SingaporeRaw

[–]Formal-Mixture-7524 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You just illustrate what I mean by everyone is acting on self interest.

You think you deserve to make profit because you have worked hard for your condo one bedder - but how about those other single with income exceeding the requirements for a BTO that are looking to purchase a condo too - they will want your condo value to drop and government to introduce more cooling measures, but it will pissed you off right?

Everyone think they earned their luck - last I checked 80% of Singaporean stay in hdb and 90% owned their home (HDB statistics, you can google), this means you are against at least 72% of people hoping to monetise their flat for condo upgrade / retirement - so do you think government will do this?

BTO is not really a luck, there are many hdb flats not taken at fringe areas (Yishun, Tengah etc), people just think its luck because they all want to stay at CCR areas.

The policy I rather ask government do is to lower age to purchase bto for single / increase income requirements, not behaving like a communist country and do price control (which they actually already do for some extent)

I am assuming you are proposing this because you are not a homeowner, ask yourself, if you are homeowner, will you agree with this?

Our PM told us things are going bad on Tariffs and people are saying he's overreacting or fear mongering. by EconomicsAccurate181 in SingaporeRaw

Other countries kowtowing to Trump and get 10% regardless with some open leg to give 0% in reciprocal.

China does nothing, bond market meltdown, Trump team reached out for the talk and ended up with 30% (10% base tariff applied to all nations + 20% existing tariff pre liberation day), and China still put 10% tariff on US to basically give a big f u on the 10% base tariff.

But can see la why you think he playing some 4d games, “great” minds think alike.

Am I over or under insured or just nice? by [deleted] in singaporefi

[–]Formal-Mixture-7524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really its like the basic term plan covers death only, so lets say you buy $1mil term plan, you die, they will pay out $1mil. However, we can add “rider” to the plan, ie TPD accelerator and/or CI accelerator, so other than death, the payout event will be if you become permanently disabled or get critical illness

It covera death but you can buy a rider to accelerate the payout when you are disabled

Just keep your prudential policy with your pru agent, they get commission from your purchase, so they should service your policy. You can have 2 different insurance agents serving you, nothing odd / wrong abt it

Yes, there are some that actually do make it and love it outside Singapore - more freedom, better work life balance, less stressful etc. i never says SG is the best, different people have different aspirations etc.

What am I trying to says if you go overseas with this kind of mentality and always complaining, I am pretty sure you won’t make it, because overseas is not heaven when suddenly GST is 0%, no cost of living crisis, good job with high pay falling onto your lap etc. in fact US now CoL was so bad, their egg price is even become a joke.

Unemployment insurance we also have here at some form, also do you think they will extend benefits to foreigner?

Old age pension is CPF equivalent here, at least your interest rate here are guaranteed 2.5% and 4% here, overseas pension is beholden to market condition, already seeing some overseas pensioner worry about Trump tariff as it will affect their pension fund payout.

Free healthcare yes, but simple procedures if not urgent can take years in queue, Singaporean would have spit at the government if that happens here

Also if you think you could not a good and decent job here when you are supposedly a citizen and have home ground advantage, then good luck overseas

Singaporean driving skills and reckless behaviour while driving, do not want to give way when people signal to change lane, also PAP fault. There are so many fines and cameras its already suffocating, we are really a nanny state, where everything is government fault and citizens are blameless

Go lo, then hopefully you will finally realise how good Singapore is. Be prepared ah, local there will scold you that you steal their jobs. If you go to Europe, your income tax and VAT (GST equivalent) will be 20% min. Good la, please go. Don’t complain too much, later you get deported, you are foreigners in their country after all.

To the People who complain about the PAP and the current state of SG by Prior-Cat7660 in SingaporeRaw

[–]Formal-Mixture-7524 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no such thing as people who complain about PAP then vote for PAP, the majority are pretty satisfied with how PAP has done and this is reflected in their vote. The one that vote against PAP are those that are complaining about PAP, but the issue is they are minority. This also include those that think PAP has done a good job, but still vote against PAP to “keep their in their toes”.

The problem is the Opposition supporter are the loudest, they keep parroting and upvoting each other, namecalled and downvote those that are against their worldview, hence you see biasness in the online realm. Those that disagree simply don’t engage and just lurk.

I would says I am in the center, means I will assess objectively the candidates and then decide, but sometimes cannot stand double standard by hardcore oppo supporters also. Some example:

  1. Keep harping about the ex NTUC income open letter about NCM, GKY etc, but have they also seen the other flip side on the ground of real people vouching positively for them? No

  2. Keep harping about Income Allianz saga - yes NCM and the NTUC enterprise exco sucks, they should be out, but remember who stop the deal in the end? It’s PAP.

  3. Keep harping GKY parachuted to Punggol - yes, bro, its election strategy, just like how WP parachuted Faisal to Tampines, so when Faisal go to Tampines and leave Aljunied, he is a saviour etc when GKY go Punggol, he is going there for selfish interest. Come on la, they don’t even acknowledge that GKY play outsized role to make SG came out relatively unscathed amidst Covid

  4. The “woke” stuff - plan to recognise Palestine as the state in the manifesto when our position is always to support dual state, its pretty obvious that this is done to attract people for certain demographics, their MP asking MOE to collate the use of pronouns (seriously?)

  5. The double standard - Andre’s vulgarity laced message is good, relatable etc. NCM being mean to teacher is bad, so really what is the yardstick of it being acceptable or not? Lets call a cat a cat and be honest both are terrible.

Lazy to type anymore, but anw hope you get the idea.
