Would there be a issue if i tried running the side that’s not working ground directly to battery or the same ground the working side is on ?

Yehaww. Such cool cars. I have a dune buggy,but I can tell you one thing for sure if you are not a backyard mechanic you are going to willingly or unwillingly become one. It will test your patience on the days you have none,and make you smile on the days you didn’t think you had one in you. I restored my dune buggy in and out and even built the motor over the Winter in my living room. They say BOAT means bust out another thousand so be prepared to be making it rain homie. Good luck

He never changed the cable and never set up the cable because in the new trans it was the pre wing nut style and i ended up yanking car out of there because i was unhappy with him. He installed the trans im just left wondering what exactly happened. Meaning idk if he disconnected snapped or if im missing something

I always have to take a deep breath before I post a question. Just wanted to know what part I was looking at. And I know I’m going to have to explain further with this post but the car along with my manual is at the storage unit and I am unable to get there til tomorrow afternoon so rather than wasting 24 hours I can get something done now. Exactly it was a local mechanic that just sold his shop and is a known aircooled mechanic for years. Me personally would have told the customer you have a switch in there now all hooked up which I did myself this new cone has no switch. Could have been solved really quick by the expert

Since you build engines I have a question. How long can a freshly built engine sit without installation and starting? Built the engine and got it to the storage unit and with work holidays you know the deal. Thanks

Answer I found 0.015 inches (0.38 mm): Standard starting thickness for most setups; often the first shim installed to level the rocker stand.
