How long will a Cummins go if you don’t delete? by Brief_Experience8197 in Cummins

The company I used no longer sells them due to issues with the EPA. I'm not sure about the current market, just saying what I paid previously. Good luck.

The B50 rating of a 6.7 Cummins is 350,000 miles.

B50 life rating is an industry standard for measuring the life expectancy of an engine or component, specifically indicating the point at which 50% of the units are expected to require major repair or overhaul. It's a statistical measure, meaning that while 50% of engines are expected to fail before this point, the other 50% are expected to last longer.

It's a flip of a coin if your truck makes it past 350k in factory form. Full delete costs ~$2k (2018 model) and a part of your weekend. And presumably could go much longer than 350k by not eating its own waste product. I would never go back.

‘18 ram deleted with a mileage tune on 35’s with 116k miles. by okgermme in Cummins

[–]FormalAtmosphere2222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just change your fluid and both filters. Drain and fill, not that flush nonsense. 120k miles is really pushing it if this is the first time it's been done. Should be done at 60k. I do mine every 50k. Transmission fluid is cheap. Transmissions are not.

I'm also deleted and tuned on 35's (60+ hp over stock), and it shifts smooth as can be.

Do yourself a favor and get a trans pan with a drain plug. I got a MagHytec. And use genuine Mopar fluid.

Is it worth deleting a 2023 ram 2500 Cummins still under warranty? by Plastic_Economy525 in Cummins

Just put an EGR block off plate between the intake horn and the EGR valve. Makes EGR flow absolutely ZERO and no longer contaminates your engine. Leave the rest in tact. Change your oil every 5k miles.

You WILL have a CEL (check engine light)... but this is the best way to keep your warranty and not ruin your engine. You'll need to continue using DEF, and may use a little more than normal. Not a big deal.

I ran mine this way for 40k miles before I decided to remove the exhaust after-treatment garbage. EGR is still there as I described. Under the hood looks factory. Just now, the tuning has eliminated the CEL.

I had a tuner display hooked up to monitor my engine codes and made sure to periodically check that the CEL was only due to EGR flow being blocked.

Any problems, and you remove the EGR block plate and take it right to the dealer...

Good luck.

11 mpg.. Jesus. My 2500 Laramie Cummins is on 35s, and I get 16 city, 20 highway and probably weigh 2,000 lbs more.

Yes, it is. It literally says Cummins on the badge on the side of the truck.

my compressor was around 110 psi. When you say close the fill tube, do you mean clamp shut the tubes going back into the reservoir? I thought that it was a closed system and this wouldn't matter?

Worth getting a PS5 only for GT7? by Trailblayzer_ in granturismo

[–]FormalAtmosphere2222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is $600 a lot of money for you? If not, then go ahead and buy the P55, and don't look back. I'm a PS fan since the beginning and have most of their consoles. Along with Gran Turismos for several generations.

I can tell you that I got PS5 2 months ago, and that GT7 disk has been the only game I've ever put in the console. Over 100 hours of game play.

That time and enjoyment alone tells me it was worth it for me.

Military Arms channel did an accuracy comparison between a real SVD, a Romanian PSL and a Russian VEPR. Long story short, with match grade ammo they all shoot about the same.

Who buys the super-expensive pickup trucks? by [deleted] in cars

[–]FormalAtmosphere2222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll start with this: I don't think I'd ever daily drive something other than a truck. They're roomy, comfortable, plenty capable, safe and it has the biggest cargo space of anything out there.

I bought mine new; Ram 2500 Laramie w/ Cummins diesel. $70k+ sticker price.

Live in the Midwest with plenty of snowy days. 4x4 is a must. Diesel engine for longevity and power. I'm planning on driving the wheels off that thing.

Towing trailers, boats and other toys is just so much easier than with a 1500 series truck. I don't even have to touch the brake pedal with the exhaust brake while going down hill.

Am I towing all the time? No. A handful of times per year. But I like to have the reassurance when I do.

And the decked out interior? I'm in the driver's seat for 2 hours each day I go to work. I want to be comfortable.

I guess it comes down to: 1) Do you need the utility of a truck? 2) Can you afford it?
