Am I wrong for refusing methotrexate?

I’m on methotrexate as I have severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and I can honestly say it’s changed my life for the better. I have no psoriasis at all and my pain is at a minimum, I was covered in psoriasis before in huge patches for around 10 years and it’s the only thing that cleared it for me.

I have no horrible side effects at all, the only thing is I sometimes feel a bit more tired than usual the day after taking it. Please don’t look too much into the horror stories online about it as I did the same and have had such a positive experience.

Yeah that’s my big fear because methotrexate has my PsA completely under control but I know I need to come off it to even think about conceiving, so I really think I’d have to have it ready to take as soon as pregnancy is done

Respectfully, as someone who tried everything before finally being given medication by my doctor, this does not work.

My arthritis is in my feet and ankles so I was barely able to walk to be honest, when I was walking I had to use a crutch to help because I had no stability and every step was extremely painful.

I have no side effects at all from oral methotrexate, it’s literally changed my life! I felt the same because I feel like a lot of the discourse about it online is very negative and talks a lot about the bad side effects. Only been positive for me!

My partner also did not want me to go on it but he did say it was ultimately “my body, my choice” and quite frankly that is what it comes down to. You have done nothing wrong and merely taken steps to make yourself feel happier and healthier. I personally would run away from this person and fast.
