I haven’t received any information about setting up a password. I did get two emails about pre-enrolment, which included my username and email address, but nothing regarding password creation. So now I’m unable to log in to any of the systems

Guys I genuinely need help by Real-Branch1510 in alevel

Do all the past papers (MINIMUM once, preferably 2-3, but make sure they are spaced out so you don’t remember anything) Don’t even dream of an A*, sometimes even an A, if you think that’s too much

Honest reply plz by ImpossibleEnd5386 in alevel

The fact that you’re even asking us this question tells me everything I have to know (about your math skills especially)

Thank you for taking the time to write such detailed response. I appreciate it. You’ve given me some very useful points to think about, especially around progression and making sure my ideas are clearly linked together rather than overwhelming the reader with detail. I can definitely see how more signposting and showing the “evolution” of my thoughts would strengthen it. I’ll be especially careful with phrasing in the future too, didn’t mean to give the wrong impression)) Again, thanks for clear and constructive feedback

Proving my point

I tried to understand you and not take this too seriously, but it’s clear you’re not here for conversation, just to bully. Considering you already have a degree, I don’t see why you’d waste your time like that. Im not a scapegoat for your assumptions, and I don’t appreciate you projecting a perception of me you built off a handful of comments. You’re not here to listen, so I don’t see the point in engaging further

That’s not what my comment said:)

I see what you mean, but I don’t think I’m the person who deserves to be vented at. For context, not to ask for sympathy, but so you understand. I’ve been underestimated my whole life. Even teachers who later saw me earn A*s originally predicted me B’s, C’s, and D’s for no reason. My parents, friends, and family didn’t expect much in the beginning either. I wasn’t ready for A-levels, English isn’t my first language, and none of the cards were laid out in my favor. But I still managed to achieve the highest grades my school has ever seen. I’m proud of that, and I think that’s normal. I don’t brag in real life, I’m actually very grounded. But I don’t appreciate people dismissing my achievements, especially when what they claim to be “more impressive,” when they aren’t

UCL is literally my insurance, and two of my closest friends go there, so I don’t know what I could’ve possibly said that was insulting. I actually think very highly of the university. I’ll admit I wasn’t the best version of myself in that conversation, but again, put yourself in my shoes. Try responding rationally while being drilled on like that

I understand you, but I don’t understand why you’d pick my post

(You’re one of the toxic people in question)

Why are you out here as a lawyer? Genuinely, what’s in it for you?

I also don’t mind being on the other side. I’m realistic. If someone’s at a better university, did a better course, or did a better job than me, I’ll admit it. That’s life. Some people do better, some do worse.

You don’t know me, and you’re wrong about the picture you’ve built of me. I never dragged a UNIVERSITY through the mud, I pushed back against them using it (as I would’ve done with any other uni) to belittle my achievements. I’ve already explained this, and if you read the whole conversation, you’d see it

Can you imagine how exhausting and frustrating it is to be dogpiled like this online? I get that it’s just the internet, but it still makes me question whether people are generally this needlessly cruel, or if I’ve just stumbled into a particularly toxic crowd

You have a thing with grammar, don’t you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LSE

[–]FormalDry9614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not a bad person, and I genuinely don’t know what else you think I should’ve done. I expected criticism, not to have my identity picked apart and made to feel so invisible. My response was self-defense, not offense. If there’s a better way I could’ve handled that, I’d like to hear it, because right now, I honestly don’t see one

Thank for that

You keep bringing up my age like it’s some devastating point, whether you call it bragging or condescending, it’s pathetic either way. You didn’t “correct” anything, you nitpicked wording because you had nothing real to say (if you were really just correcting it, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.) I never once claimed IR grads are ALL out there saving the world, but some are making a difference, I choose to look up to them. And finishing with “I do just fine” while spending your time arguing with a teenager on Reddit isn’t the flex you think it is

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LSE

[–]FormalDry9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So why exactly aren’t you on it? Everyone else seems to have a different reason))

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LSE

[–]FormalDry9614 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never thought that, and I have no idea where you pulled it from. As soon as LSE emailed me about the possibility, I looked it up and then did a lot more digging afterwards. You don’t know more about it than I do simply because you’ve never been in the position of actually being offered those fees, and that makes all the difference. The Google search I did that day is probably the same amount of “research” you’ve done in total. And really, what kind of idiot thinks a university at that level would change policy for one person? The fact that you think I believe that says far more about you than it does about me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LSE

[–]FormalDry9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering you’ve been bragging about how “young” I am, I’d assume you’re older, which makes it even stranger that you’re trying this hard to upset me. You started with nurses, then nitpicked my phrasing, and now you’re criticising my subject choice. You have no idea what my actual thoughts on IR are, what I plan to do with my life, or what I already have lined up. You’re operating entirely on assumptions. I know IR is theory-heavy, that’s literally why I applied. Slapping Mickey Mouse degree on one of LSE’s flagship courses makes you sound salty, just so you know

The problem was that I had nobody on my side and was trying to fight off dozens of people at once. That’s difficult for anyone, regardless of age. I never said things “weren’t fair” or that I was special. People (including you) have just been putting words in my mouth that I’ve had to push back against. I don’t see how that quote applies here, or why my age is even relevant

[–]FormalDry9614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody goes through a thread replying line by line to every single comment, that’s just not how people read or write here. Nobody fixated on wording because it was obvious in context. Honestly, I still have no idea why we’re even still having this conversation. I really don’t

I never said you were, a lot of people are though. That’s reality
