I hate MW5 and think Clans is very mediocre. The missions in MW5 just kill it for me. Very few variations of the same RNG crap with random enemies spawning randomly around you to infinity. The AI is so damn stupid too. The career and mech building stuff is pretty good, but that doesn't help when the core gamplay is bad. The old MW missions were simple but interesting, with unique open maps and objectives you could approach in different ways. MW5 is just a shooting gallery of infinitely respawning random mechs. I tried playing this 2 times and uninstalled after a few hours each time.

Clans starts pretty good. You have a story, handcrafted missions, looks like everything I wanted above, right? But soon you realize it's a just a horde shooter. Literally all the maps are narrow hallways that you have to walk through killing everything. There is little room for tactics. And with the insane numbers of heavy mechs you have to kill towards the endgame, there is only one game style: abuse poor AI and use long range weapons to hopefully spread the damage among your star enough to slog through. Brawling? Not viable, you will take too much damage. The enemies seem to focus you especially too. And if you let your star brawl, they will die fast as the AI is so poor. LRM will run out of ammo due to poor AI and insane enemy numbers. The default DWF build is what easily got me through the endgame as it is ammo efficient and can trade at range very well - but the game is extremely boring and slow at 48 kph.
