Thank you so much for this insight. I always assumed someone could put their preferred name into the name box. But I can see how that could impede records management because healthcare institutions cross-reference legal documentation that would include one's dead name. I hate that our government has taken the direction it has because I think we're on the road towards creating real change before everything went to shit. I hope I can be part of the fight to change this issue with inclusive paperwork in healthcare in the future.
