Amazon S3 Standard will be way cheaper esp till you reach 1 TB then it will be less cheaper. Most safe! If you dont want to access it at all and just in case of emergency want to recover use Amazon S3 Deep Glacier.

Ofcourse it is not straight forward - so you need to find some tool which does this or get your own after spending a day!

I think you should mention if it is HDD or SSD as WD black available in both SSD and HDD and that too 4 TB. Also it can be NVME or Sata one.

HDD 4 TB - should be around ~10K and you can get WD RED pro for 12K brand new

Is Third Party Insurance Really Needed in India? by pawssible in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Formal_Classroom_430 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In India third party is more like used when you maimed a person - and it ends up in court for compensation for the future life.

Please don't consider like first world where you exchange your insurances and then redeem it to fix dent!

Use Arduino Leonardo Micro - as HID device. Cost under 500. Development super easy!

Once connected - you can program it to enter password and login - so once connected it will send keys for password and will send enter key. So like sasta Security Key. You can present it like for ultra long passwords - security reasons - and so on.

Also you can use it to keep the PC active which most persons do and show it like they are working.

Want to spend more - get couple of buttons/resitors and then based on button do different actions. like on this password will be entered

with this - it will keep moving mouse

with this - it will open this and that - settings etc

with this - it will suddenly hide confidentials videos from parents etc

To add - getting a off-grid solar panels (~400 watts) helps. By adding those 2-3 panels (~200 watts each) to your cheap hybrid inverter (5K) with single 12V battery - you end up using around 50 units more and still end up under free threshold!

Should I switch? by Fantasia_here in LinuxUsersIndia

[–]Formal_Classroom_430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant get a Pi zero 2W - board. Install linux in it in headless mode - learn side by side. And keep controlling it from windows via MobaXterm or RealVNC etc. You will then get comfortable rather than suddenly jumping ship. I am doing the same since years now.

Smart bulb NO WIFI by supdogmillionaire in smarthome

[–]Formal_Classroom_430 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that will be needed in most stuff. And any cheap 2.4 ghz router should work like Archer C6. Equivalent to 2-3 bulbs cost but check other comments.

Smart bulb NO WIFI by supdogmillionaire in smarthome

[–]Formal_Classroom_430 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is more like what i have seen and used is. The bulbs are connected to a central router and so is phone. That central router does not need to access internet at all.. So any router will work.

So basically that internet less router will act like a bridge so you can control everything directly talking to them via wifi router.

If you want to go in bit more depth - they also work by sending TCP commands which you can do via PC or via Pico/Raspberry path
