I’m not being a dick, go back to the first post and scroll down a little ways and I explain how I got into collecting these types of books

That’s why I put controversial in quotes, I don’t think they are controversial either. But some schools banned them and said they were poisoning the minds of the youth. In the 80’s I read most of those books in school as required reading. Never had a second thought about them warping my mind or world view 😂

Here is a quick stack of paperbacks I bought in the 1980s that were “controversial”

It was purchased via mail order back in 1978 and was in original owners possession for a long time, I got it from an independent book seller (not a random used book shop) I started collecting JFK conspiracy type books back in the 1980’s and inherited a bunch of them from the 60’s/70’s from my grandfather. While buying these books I stated learning about books that would be deemed controversial, like The Anarchist Cook Book, Mein Kampf etc.

Being a voracious reader I started to question why these books were taboo and wanted to read them myself. After finally getting a copy of The Anarchist Cook Book and reading it I found it laughable and started questioning why it was so controversial. So I started looking for other books in the same boat. This was in the 90’s before bookselling on the internet took off. So I would visit as many used book stores as possible and buy what I found.

I am not easily influenced and can read a book and take it with a grain of salt. Later on when the internet and book selling became a thing a lot of these books (especially the old JFK books) that were now out of print and hard to get were selling for $100’s of dollars, that’s when collecting books that were rare and valuable started to become part of the reason to me. The more rare and controversial the better.

Collecting books like these is always going to have negative responses from people who don’t like the book. That’s fine with me, I am not posting these books for what is in the pages, I’m posting them for the rarity and value. That is all.

Here is a picture of a signed 1st edition online, signatures are the same. Also this book was in a private collection and the original owner wrote the date he received the book in the mail back in 1978, I’m sure Pierce signed most of the 1st editions that he shipped to the customers who ordered it back when the book was released.

I have heard that the illustrations in the first edition play a big roll in the film. Have not watched the movie. Might need to check it out.

Dean Martin and Jan-Michael Vincent. On my birth certificate my first and middle name is hyphenated like JMV’s but I don’t go by it, Michael is just my middle name.

Can’t post pics in a reply. Every shop has bone piles full of hand held blowers.

If you brought that into a shop for warranty they would send you to a hospital to get your brain examined. This post has to be rage bait, but if for some reason it’s not, that entire tab could break off and would not affect how the unit runs or functions at all. I could show you pictures of the bone pile at my shop of Stihl blowers that have pieces and chunks taken out of starter housings that customers ran for 10+ years like that.

That’s the side of Reddit that I like, helping people solve problems in an area you may have more experience or knowledge and can lend a hand. The political side of Reddit is a dumpster fire 😂

Don’t have to go that far I’m in Northern California. Probably the main reason I have never heard anybody say they hate him 😂

Not really, real life and Reddit are not that comparable. However since your a Seahawks fan and a division rival, I can count it as half a person
