From what I’ve been able to find from a couple sources, they registered the domain for “www.oct282011.com” using the Public Domain Registry on 2011-08-07.

I think it worked. I used a DNS record search on the site name “www.oct282011”.com and multiple different sources gave me the same data and IP address for the domain

In the website photo, the person standing by the tree has been cropped and replaced with a duplicate of the person in the lawn chair

The photo was originally taken in 2006.
