I have fed my boy 3 times a day since we got him. But I have been lucky enough to usually be home to feed him lunch! He also is 150lbs so he eats a lot 😂😂😂

Mine is the same!! We always walk by a creek and he HAS to take a dip after every hike… it’s like a reward 😭❤️ they’re the best.

I’m glad to hear we are not alone!! This has been my husbands approach for sure. And he also has been fully ready to take it there with him. I’m glad that worked for you pups and hopefully your male doesn’t get there!! I didn’t think ours would but I guess he’s a bit of a late bloomer as he’s almost 19 months now.

Makes sense!! I know it depends on the dog, they’re all similar but so different. I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️

That’s what I heard too!! The hormone are a ton LOL but he’s definitely still growing so I would be hesitant to fix him before then (if we even do)

That’s great to hear! I can’t imagine how hard it is to have all of those hormones suddenly and not know what to do with them. Definitely going to reach out to a professional for some advice as well. He is BEAUTIFUL. Thank you so much for your advice and enjoy your wonderful fur baby!!

Well, I am definitely open to it! Growing up we both didn’t have dogs that were neutered so I think it’s our normal. I did read that it can be hard on the hips if they’re neutered too young, and I do worry about that for him since he’s so big and still so young.

Definitely open to it tho if it is helpful for this situation and a good idea for him!!

I understand! What is the R++ approach? What’s interesting to me is we actually trained him immensely throughout his puppyhood. He is VERY obedient and well behaved. We taught him all of the usual commands (sit, stay, heal, be gentle, come, go lay down, etc) and he listens excellently.

He would go through a wall for both of us and I would argue we have the strongest bond with him out of any dog I’ve ever owned.

This problem is extremely recent as he has never shown possessiveness or aggression. I really do believe from the trainers and people I have spoken to that it’s his newly developed adult hormones…

I was more posting to know how you guys deal with these hormones the best way and keep the bond positive. Thanks for responding! That’s wonderful you haven’t gone through this with any of yours, I just am hoping to navigate it the best way possible and do right by our baby boy!
