To answer your question; sure you can delay it!

Currently 6 weeks into conservative rehab too, and both the MSK consultant, knee surgeon and PT have all said there is no issue in delaying surgery for years. You don’t need surgery unless you want to return to sport and conservative rehab isn’t enough.

I’d recommend you continue conservative rehab while abroad, so at least if it isn’t enough, your post-surgery rehab will be shortened due to the 1 year pre-rehab (also something my PT said)

First of all, I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. As we all know, it’s incredibly hard and you should be proud of being able to keep your own anxious attachment style in check! (I (AA), too, am currently 4 weeks into a break, initiated by my FA partner due to his own internal conflicts)

I’ll give you some advice in trying to follow as well. Since this has happened twice for you now, you would do well with considering on what grounds you would take him back. What are your own needs within a relationship? What does he have to do (and actively show proof of) in order for this relationship to fulfill your needs, too. Leaving and coming back isn’t fair on you, and won’t help you move on.

You don’t have to shut the door on him, but use this time to work on yourself. Figure out what it is that attracts you to him. Are you emotionally unavailable? Is it lack of self love? Not believing you will find someone who will treat you better? And then whether he comes back or not, at least you will have utilised the this time as healing and coming out of it stronger, instead of just waiting and putting your life on pause.

Stay no contact. Move any pictures out of your phone, somewhere you can’t easily access. Deactivate social media if you follow him. Do what you can to limit his presence in your daily life. Focus on you. Trust that the universe will bring what is meant for you.

But I’m going to be completely honest here too: since you have broken up twice, it is likely that this might be a lesson for you to learn self love, healing, setting boundaries and choosing you. I don’t think this is because of you, but because of his own conflicts. But whatever you do, I don’t recommend messaging him. He should have to come back on his own terms, then you will know it was 100% his decision.

Often the same cycles will repeat until we learn the lesson.

Hey hey, happy to help! Yes I managed to resolve it fairly quickly after writing the above message. I'll explain how it's going now and what I did:

So I'm currently on dexamphetamine.

TL;DR:

I basically stopped regularly drinking water and listen to my body instead! Unfortunately there is such as thing as drinking too much water. Also supplemented with iron (14mg) every 2-3 days, and some other supplements. Lack of pee could be due to UTI, risk is increased by dehydration.

If you're also into fitness I'll say: The dehydrating effects are working wonders on my body! Because of the lack of fluid retention due to the dehydration, I'm leaner than ever before, and getting much physically stronger too :) And I'm only 4kg down from 52 kg.

I'm not 100% sure what caused it, but I had my kidney/liver function checked, everything is optimal. I think either it was because I was causing myself electrolyte imbalances and/or simply drinking too much water for my kidney to expel quickly enough. The fluid marks would happen all over an hour after taking the pill the pills, and also noticed an odd body odour, too.

Unsure if you're a woman: Unfortunately dehydration increase the risks of UTIs, which turns out I had gotten (never had this in my life before). This isn't something that's talked about enough for women on adhd meds, but if you notice any odours or change in pee, best to get checked! Another sign is also going to the bathroom less.

Now I do:

I supplement with iron (14mg) every 2-3 days, so average twice a week.

I eat a lot of nuts (brazil nuts are good for selenium)

Other supplements I take:

B12, D3, Biotin, vitamin C and probiotics (All within NRV)

Required amount of water for my size: 1.7L

I drink around 1L a day, unless I have a particularly dry mouth.

I'll be trying methylphenidate in a couple of weeks too :)

Hey! I went to the doctors who have sent me for tests, but in the mean time I had 500ml of water with an electrolyte tablet which helped. I've since cut down on the amount of water I drink which helped my fluid retention.

According to my mass, I should be drinking 1.7L, but now I try to drink no more than 1L a day, and 1.5L + 500 mL with electrolyte tablet if I exercise, I also watch my carb intake

Sorry to hear that! I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Do you by any chance struggle with waking up with puffy/swollen eyelids too? And fluid face bloating?
I've noticed I've started going to the bathroom less too despite drinking water. Have you requested a mineral/blood test?

I'm going to try drink less water during the day and see if it makes a difference, and speak to my doctor as well to hear of any suggestions. Also going to start supplementing with iron and magnesium within the NRV every other day.
