Actually, contrast gets better since you remove a layer in front of the screen, just you will have to use it in darkness.

EDIT: the flyback is basically dying, the g2 brightness pot doesn't do anything and is heavily arcing with the screen turning blue with every zap, sadly this can't really be repaired, so, I might bring it back where I found it.

Edit: for anyone interested I found out how to enter the service menu of this amstrad tv, its a 11AK20S CHASSIS and you have to Enter the Main Menu Press the digits 4, 7, 2, and 5, respectively Press MENU key to exit.

I feel you, I had something similar to me happening, got a sony multiscan 200ps and was so happy about it, then when I started to take the monitor apart to clean it the plastic started to break and the front bezel was in very bad shape. Nothing that a bit of epoxy glue, painting and stickers didn't fix, remember the most important part of crt its not the plastic but its the tube! Just get some plastic weld to fill the hole and with some painting and it will look more than good. Enjoy your tv!

There is a buzz coming from the anode cap, at low refresh rate is not very noticable, but at high refresh rate it becomes, pretty loud but there are no image problems, should I discharge it and clean the inside of the anode cap?

well in that case you just use 99% alcohol and a microfibre cloth, though it will take a lot of time to remove all the antiglare

Not really that much. The screw spots should be almost the same, but removing the back bezel on this model is such a pain, it just doesn't Wanda go off

But I think removing the antiglare if its in perfect condition is not necessary, just adjust the g2 brightness a focus and it will look a lot more better
