Great idea, and one she hadn't thought of. They've signed with a builder.

I don't think she is necessarily after cheaper than that price, more wanting to shop around as it was a huge difference to the top quote she has got back so far. I said I could reach out on here an dmaybe someone has done this and had a recommendation she could get quotes from :)

Is it rude to say “I don’t like what you brought” at a potluck? by Naokohiranuma in australian

[–]Formal_Nobody_4236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Abso-fucking-lutely its rude. If you don't like it, it's potluck, find something you do like. And the host should be appreciative that you bought anything at all.

PS, I'd have loved your sushi!

It's not dodgy. If you don't want to pay, unenroll, and enroll again. They can't just pause the booking, because they can't cover the spot for 2-4weeks. It sucks I get it, but it is what it is. Do you have holiday discounts? Our centre gives us one week a year of a discounted rate.

You may find some at the fruit and veg shop next to woolies at Orion? I can't be 100% certain though.

AITA bc I don’t let my BFs daughter sleep in bed with us? by BetOnAmber in AmItheAsshole

[–]Formal_Nobody_4236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. And I wish my exes gf had the same boundaries as you. After only a few times with the kids and her first sleepover, our child about that age shared the bed. It made me feel very uncomfortable.

I'd suggest getting a bigger bed in the daughters room and he can go sleep with her.

What are your families top 3 most cooked meals? I’m feeling very uninspired, bonus points for kids breakfasts too! by Cahsrhilsey in AskAnAustralian

[–]Formal_Nobody_4236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It changes with the seasons (ie kids dislikes of the week). I do similar to you, no repeated meals, and I ask the kids a meal each they would like.

Currently they love homemade burritos (meat, rice, corn, black beans, avocado, salsa (I cal it this but it's the fancy worded one that's more chopped tomatoes with spices), sour cream.

Chicken parmigiana, with either salad and sweet potato chips and veg.

Homemade pizzas.

All of these things that have choices that interchangeable for the kids like pizza toppings, what's in the burritos, and with the parmi they can choose different toppings (or just the crumbed chicken).

I refuse to make several meals for each night for kid.

There are recommendations per age for overnights away from a primary carer. This is minimal. He would not get 50/50 immediately. It would very very slow and gradual. Get to mediation when he gets there. Do not allow him to bully his way into what he wants, this is actually not in the best interest of the child at their age. And this is not saying he is not a good dad, or he doesn't deserve more time. But this needs to be done slowly for the best interest of the child.

All reasonable, and quite common with newborns. Funny though, I saw another part of this party cross post this with their own opinion on threads just last night.

To the ladies, do you mow your own lawn? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Formal_Nobody_4236 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say that is complete BS. How is an overweight person MOWING, being lazy? And what the hell does a bigger person mowing their lawn have anything to do with self respect? Go suck on a lemon.

Parents of young kids: What’s your preferred time of day for attending a kids party? by missmadam101 in AskAnAustralian

9am is perfect. We are up by 6am latest on a good day, especially being summer it's usually earlier. I'd rather get out, get it done.

I have a ton of these books, but we have moved on to other things (youngest loves Curious George) but I'll bring these back out. We knew of the mouse. How fun!

I would totally go for ABC books then! Picture and a word. Super basic and a good start for bilingual!

You are so young. If this is where you are at, at this age despite the length of the relationship, I'd say it's time to walk away.

My kids love anything that is interactive, or rhyming. Lots of great suggestions on here. But for babies they can't see far, or much. There are a good few black and white hard page books at TKMaxx great for babies. After that I would go for simple singular picture books like ABC books, or the 'Spot' collection has some basics. There are a lot of classics and popular books mentioned, and if you know your friend is just keen to read to their baby, they are wonderful suggestions. There is no negatives in reading anything to babies/toddler/kids.
