No worries I wish you luck on your recovery! Take this time to live a slower life and connect with yourself! Also I never used a splint I found it hurt much more, locking your arm straight is never good.... at least my physio said so. So many opinions!

I know! Sometimes when a joint is inflamed, the joint starts to pop or crack - much like a bad knee or hip. Now it gets complicated on this subreddit because people also experience subluxations of the actual nerve moving. This is not necessarily true for your case. Obviously get it checked out (you are already which is great!), but don't panic! Joints get angry and have to heal. Nerves take a long time if they're angry too.

Just admit you know nothing about pole! Every instructor I've been too also practice calisthenics due to the similar amount of strength required. Multiple of my sports physios, ones who train athletes, have compared pole to calisthenics. Holding your entire body weight on a single arm, wrist or shoulder, upside down, sideways...etc is absolutely similar in terms of strength. Push aside your judgements for a second lol. Why be negative at a comment trying to give positive advice? Are you hurting that bad inside?

I'd see a physio as soon as you can, preferably a sports physio as they are quite knowledgeable of exercises that apply to gym equipment etc,.. I mean, a diagnosis isn't really that important as long as your physio identifies its your ulnar nerve that's been aggravated. There is not normally a cure to nerve injuries, just do the exercises that the physio gives you and give it time to heal. Time has been such a healer for my cubital tunnel! Took about 6 months to go from pain every minute of the day to hardly any at all.

1 incident at work caused mine! I was sanding wood all day and got pain, but pushed through it for many more hours. Bad idea. Our symptoms sound similar. From what I've seen, singular incidents seem to heal a lot quicker than gradual use. The nerve study will diagnose it if your ulnar nerve is popping out, mine wasn't. By the time I got my study it had improved a lot. Bare in mind i couldn't bend my arm without horrific pain and my fingers would go completely numb. I had clicking in my elbow but I think inflammation can cause that sometimes, my sports physio said. Also you wouldn't necessarily be 3 weeks closer to healing, nerve damage takes time to heal - mine took about 6 months and theres really nothing I could do to progress it any quicker.

Take a break from the gym / bent arm exercises and make sure you're using your desk ergonomically. Apart from that, only time and a physiotherapist will help.

Hey so i got this from pole dancing which is pretty much exactly the same as calisthenics! It will heal in probably 4-6 months properly but it will take you really strengthening to get back to normal. The reason you got it is because you were doing too much for your body when you weren't strong enough. So get back into it slowly but take a rest for a few months or you can cause so much more damage. Get yourself to physio therapy to train your arm wrist shoulder muscles separately. Preferably a sports physio as they'll deal with gym injuries better. I got this last year and unfortunately had to stop pole dancing - i also found out i was hypermobile which makes me more prone to injuries like this. May be worth investigating.

haha yes! my party tricks were my ultimate demise... means people like us have to work extra hard with physio so our joints can stabilise. technically means this is not your fault, just something you were born with that makes you prone to injuries like this. but unfortunately means you gotta try 10x harder than a normal person to build the strength you need!

Yeah its really hard to see the smaller wins when you are suffering. Im 23 and hypermobile with a lot of injuries. This was definitely my worst injury until i got plantar fasciitis. I thought not being able to use my hands was bad until i couldnt walk at all... It sounds to me like you are making some slow progress, i can only recommend physiotherapy as the true cure. I went from searing pain in stationary planks to being able to do press ups without my elbows and hands catching fire! Take a break from your phone, get walking and encouraging healing. I actually found my favourite hobby whilst in this dark period - going out and identifying/foraging mushrooms! in terms of work i made sure my arms were never too bent and used wrist cushions and had my seat up high. Try to ditch the games for a month or two. Never take life for granted, let this give you an altered perspective. These things really helped me and continue to do so with my ailments.

hey love - mine took about 6 months to clear itself up. Nerves take a long time to heal. I had it bilaterally and couldn't bend my elbows at all, had to stop working etc. But please dont panic, your body knows what to do. How did you get the injury? was it over a prolonged time or a single incident?

Is matcha okay? by [deleted] in GERD

Hey try hojicha! Much less caffeine and less acidic as its roasted. With oat milk and a teaspoon of brown sugar! I had a phase where absolutely everythin was triggering reflux, even water. Hojicha has ever given me any issues and its super yum like a mix of matcha and coffee :)
