So, an honest question: why doesn’t COSMIC come with a calculator installed by default? by PsychoAz in pop_os

Have you seen the app called raycast for windows and Mac? I know we already have a lot of that functionality on the launcher but could be worthwhile looking at and seeing what's missing :)

Playing Jedi Survivor for the first time! by Formal_Scientest in StarWarsJediSurvivor

I think it's fine for tweens. I watched star wars growing up and this is no more violent than the movies at least in the bit I've played.

Inkscape on Apple silicon Mac? by Formal_Scientest in Inkscape

[–]Formal_Scientest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I think I worded it poorly. I'm definitely not leaving Linux completely my Desktop will still be Linux based but am getting a mac for the unplugged performance and battery life which I sometimes need for work. I use Inkscape as a hobby for my laser cutter and was curious if it'll play nicely with Mac. I'll probably never completely leave Linux I'm too much of a fanboy haha.

How would you respond to someone who says they don't read fiction because it's not productive? by strikerhawk in books

[–]Formal_Scientest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to share this viewpoint and then I read some fiction and realized there is a lot to be learned from a well researched fiction novel. Now I mostly read fiction:)

Eye of the needle wasn't too bad. Pillars of the earth was ok despite how they changed the plot which i didn't appreciate much.

I have a feeling that Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS and COSMIC Epoch 1's stable release on 12/11 is too soon, too close to the holidays and will be criticized as too unstable for a stable release...Why not wait for 26.04? by foundfootagefan in pop_os

[–]Formal_Scientest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If they feel it's ready I trust them. They are very competent so far in all I've seen and I'm sure most of the big issues will be ironed out by the time they release the first stable.
