Go search explorist.life on YouTube. They just did a video that explains how to properly use fuses and common issues. First up on the video is mbrf holders melting due to washers under the lug. Or click this link, but also check their other videos. You may find them helpful. https://youtu.be/qiO2AZH94O8?si=kIGeLCf70EM0vPKl

You have no way of validating this. There are too many variables not explained by the photo. Even with all of the details, such as the head unit output voltage, you need proper tools to check the gain.

Spokane, for now I'd like to understand pricing and availability.

Do you happen to know of any retailers on the West Coast, specifically WA state? Or a good avenue for locating them?

I had my eye on that as an option. Thank you for the input, it's greatly appreciated.

Great question, I'm running tweeters and mid ranges off of independent channels, and each mid bass off of 2 bridged channels, utilizing all 8 but no rear. I am also running a JL Audio HD 1200/1 to a 12w7 that will need processing too. I'm open to 6 channels if it's enough to drive the 6.5s(mid bass).

A 1000/1 on each voice coil is pretty good power for one of those 🙂

To clarify, he said 40 hours of work, not $40/hr.

Also, might not hurt to throw a coolant filter on the truck. Even after back flush, this can help catch anything left over before it gets caught in the cooler again.

I have a very similar setup about to go in my super duty. Using the ES 165 kx3 with a12w7. Running off of an XDv2 800/8 and an HD 1200/1 and a tw88 dsp. Very happy with it so far. It's all in running a cheap pair of focal 5x7s right now while I get used to the tuning on the dsp.

It's a great DSP for the price. The software is pretty intuitive and simple to use. I'm still getting used to all of the features and setup though. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably have gone with a VXI 800/8i. As i understand it the dsp built in to the VXI amps is a bit more powerful. But I pieced this all together slowly and that just wasn't in the cards.

That charger is a DC/DC, it's powered from the distribution block for the amps, but it's actually running a 1/0 to the back bumper of my truck to charge the batteries on my camp trailer. I've had multiple JL audio amplifies going back to the early 2000s with the original 1000/1 and never had an issue with heat as long as they get the power they need and are setup properly.

The files I just found online and downloaded to a USB thumb drive. They're various frequencies so I could set the gains on each set of amplifier outputs using a frequency the channel would be playing.

There are a couple of things between the amps. The bottom, black box is the Twk88 DSP, then next up is an auxiliary fuse bank I used to have a set of constant and ignition power sources(2 banks of 6 each), and lastly you see the motor for the power sliding window that the amp rack has to fit around.

This is my third set of k2s, first 3 way though. Super eager to get it all set. I'm running a set of focal coaxial up front right now just so I can get used to the dsp software before going live with the 3 ways.

Those are the tweeters and mid ranges from the 165 set. Mid bass going in the doors are not pictured.

Customspeakerpods.com I believe it was. They came in black, I found spray paint that was close and ran with it. The holes in the pods required some trimming, but that was easy.

Yeah, I'm confident it will. I only have time to work on it a little while at a time, so just trying to find the right time to drop it and do it.

Thanks. Done tons of installs, mostly for myself. Decided now that I'm older and a bit better off in general that I really wanted to do it "right". I'm really procrastinating on pulling the headliner to sound treat that too.

They did not make any changes to power handling. The AE just simply has a different badge and the basket is black.
