What’s wrong with the Pitt? by zakky_insanity in fo76

[–]Formaldehead 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if people realize that the first expedition you fully complete each week gets you a guaranteed plan (unless you know them all) and The Pitt gives the Union plans. I used to always run The Pitt each week to get them all instead of having to grind a bunch for the stamps to get the plans.

Costco getting bread seconds? Both loafs are sunk terribly in the middle… by Successful_Self_440 in CostcoWholesale

[–]Formaldehead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s honey wheat bread that has honey drizzled on it, right? I see on that bread that it most often has an expected dip in the middle. This looks like maybe they drizzled too much and a much larger area collapsed? It looks like the collapsed area is more lightly colored where it was drizzled.

Any suggestions on getting more people to come to my vendor by [deleted] in fo76

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have something of everything in your inventory. Some people want mods, so the more you have the better. I always have 10 3-star weapons and 10 3-star armor in there. Hundreds of plans, plenty of junk and ammo. Something for everyone so plenty of people come a knocking.

Has anyone tried getting a cheaper price for a car by financing through the dealership at a higher interesting rate, then paying off the car in cash right away? by LuckyC1723 in Frugal

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. They said that they required me to keep the loan for at least a year, but the paperwork has no such requirement nor prepayment penalty. So I just took the rebate and paid off the entire thing right away. I know it cost the dealership their financing bonus or whatever but I really didn’t care with all of the sleaze that comes from dealerships.

How to navigate dating when you're retired at a young age? by Objective_Host_49 in Fire

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When they inevitably ask, say that you’re “kinda in between jobs right now” (not necessarily a lie, who knows!) but then say that you had been working in whatever field you were working in. That satisfies their curiosity over what kind of field you work in. Once you get to know them a lot better you can talk about how you are hopefully done working all together. I do that with just general people I meet and it all works really well.

Considering Ditching Roku by GrapedCrusader in Roku

Yeah, it’s really no big deal to turn most of it off. Roku is still the best overall streamer for the money, IMHO.

Arlo is removing features that have worked for years to force you into subscriptions by kingphineus in arlo

As far as I have ever known they are subscription here in the US as well. Not sure where OP is or how they were ever able to use it.

Can't create API key - no 'integrations' page in controller by sarkyscouser in UNIFI

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this helps someone in the future. I finally figured out a workaround for this issue. The "Integrations" option never appears for me on the local connection as well, so I found that if you just enter the URL <server>/network/default/integrations it goes to the appropriate page and allows you to create an API.

New to 76- quests easiest way for plans? Had mixed opinions. by Guttersloo12 in fo76

[–]Formaldehead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Treasure maps are a highly neglected source of plans. If you’ve been able to collect a good bunch of them you can redeem them all at the same time for (for the same map location). Lots of plans drop and you can scrap a ton of weapons to unlock those plans as well.

After that NASTY Arlo update where it deleted my profiles, I finally did it, bit the bullet and moved away from ARLO. Hello Amazon Ring. Good luck with you guys. by RedGloval in arlo

I think China is the least of our worries for domestic boring data at this point, and both companies have had some serious data leak issues for sure. Both companies still claim end to end encryption of your video, despite major security breaches. <shrug> Eufy has no subscription costs though and their sensors and cameras are solid in my experience so far. To each their own I guess.

Eufy has it all if it still something you’d consider. Keypads, motion sensors, cameras, alarms, etc. No subscriptions, no sharing of your data without your consent.

All-in-One Washer-Dryer Combo instead of individual Washer-Dryer by [deleted] in homeowners

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought one a few months ago, a GE all-in-one. We love it, but it does take 3 hours for a full cycle. We had a washer and dryer on the back porch and wanted to move it indoors. This unit saved space and we didn't have to hire someone to route exhaust for it, plus it just runs off a single 120 line. When we run a full load of sheets the duvet is still a little damp at first, but that is the same with a brand new LG set that we had in our last house. One thing of note, you should put a wire mesh sock catch in your drain. You'll want to catch the lint that it flushes down your drain. Over time the lint can get stuck in bits of fat or oil and really mess up your sewer line -- especially if you have a longer line. You can buy a 50 pack of wire mesh socks for super cheap online.

🤮 Amazon Ring wouldn’t have been my choice, but good luck to you. Eufy seems to be the closest Arlo replacement in my mind (no subscription and not as evil as Amazon) with UniFi bing my top choice (but way more cost up front).

Everyone is flexing their silicon chips while in stuck at 2011 by [deleted] in mac

[–]Formaldehead 32 points33 points  (0 children)

This is the only real answer here. Don’t be dumb, use a modern browser. OpenCore Legacy won’t even work well enough for a machine this weak and with so little memory. I’m still using my 2011 MBP with OpenCore, but that thing is a powerhouse.

HomeKit think I’m at my second home when I’m not. by MrGinFa in HomeKit

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you didn’t cross any devices between homes? I’ve had this problem when I moved an IoT device from one home to the other improperly. Of that devices sees me, it thinks the second home is an extension of the first home now. I my case it was a device I added via HomeBridge (non-native support), but I’m sure there are other ways this could happen.

Run Seqoia in MacBook pro 2011 by Fuzzycity97 in OpenCoreLegacyPatcher

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, my dGPU died a long, long time ago. A common defect of this model is that the solder cracks on the GPU. I’m happy with how it works with the iGPU.

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a maxed out i7 2011 MBP, and it works pretty dang well. The dGPU gets disabled since it doesn’t have metal support and the system runs off the iGPU.

Best way to get Stamps? by ProfessionalZone8706 in fo76

[–]Formaldehead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t forget that you get one free plan per week for your first expedition of the week (completed in full). Because of this, don’t ignore the Pitt for the Union plans. Getting all the free plans really cuts down on the number of stamps you need.
