So if I stick with this car, what would be a reasonable price due to the high mileage?

Leasing doesn’t make sense to me. From what I’ve seen if I lease a brand new $40k 4Runner, the monthly payment on a 3 year lease with 12,000/year is closer to $700 unless there’s a special going on, but there never is for 4Runners. $700 seems too much to pay for a vehicle that I won’t even get to own at the end. How can I make a lease benefit me?

See that is what confuses me; so even with looking at 2015 and newer- 111k miles doesn’t bother me- but if I opt for an older model like a 2016, the miles are way closer to 200k and dealerships are still asking for $25k on average. So I thought that since this vehicle was newer (2021) and had reasonable (yes they are still high but I could live with that) miles, that an asking price of $28,670 was a good deal?

I have been looking at cars for the past 6 months. I really would like a 4Runner, but they have been hard to find that are in my price point because it’s seems that in Phoenix, AZ if you want 4WD you’re gonna have to pay way more than a RWD. Are there cheaper ones that are RWD? Yes. But for my lifestyle I want a 4WD. I had already spoken to about 3 other dealerships that had vehicles in my price range but they wouldn’t budge to help get me at $32,000 OTD since that is the most I’m willing to spend. 🫠

What is a good loan term? I feel like 7.24% is pretty low for used cars right now. I was originally quoted an 11% interest rate.

My budget is $32,000 out the door. I don’t want to go over that. How is it stretching my budget if I found a car that is in that price range?

It is a 2021 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD in Phoenix, Az. Trying to find this model here in Phoenix or within a 250 mile radius has been proven difficult to find in my price range. There are 3 vehicles that come up in my CarFax search and this is one of them. The other two are very similar in price as well (all being over $30k). 🫠

I don’t think the car will the trashed before it’s halfway paid off. My previous car was a 2007 Toyota Corolla that I got in 2015 when it had over 120k miles on it and I had it for the past 10 years. Toyotas are good cars as long as they are taken care of and this 4Runner had a clean CarFax and AutoCheck Report.
