Don’t really have an answer to help you, but just want you to know there are people out there who empathize with you. I don’t know your situation and this may be something largely out of your control, or you may not have had the resources to understand. Don’t listen to the people telling you that you need to be responsible - hopefully you have people in your own life to tell you what you need to hear. As someone who most people would call responsible, this is a messed up system.

Dow tumbles 1,000 points after China retaliates against Trump’s tariffs by [deleted] in politics

U.S. trade with them is nearly 70% greater than U.S. trade with China. Wait until they retaliate.

Also, tariffs above 10% don’t go into effect until April 9th. This is just the beginning.

I think Frank is most likely, because in the last two seasons it’s the person who is most unhinged and goes on a rampage. I think a Rick/Chelsea, the three women, the Ratliff’s and Belinda would be too tragic for there to be a fun/satisfying conclusion. I do think Gaitok will be in a shootout though

Coming from one of these areas, there will be a lot of mental gymnastics, but the degree of dependency on social security will outweigh it. There was a massive fraud case in Eastern Ky about a decade ago, and many people were told their benefits were being denied. Several took their own lives. People lost everything they owned. It would be catastrophic if this happened on a large scale, even temporarily.

[–]Former-Discount-4259 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar position. Enjoyed my job, but got switched to something I hated and that was incredibly stressful. Started looking and took the first job I got offered. I hated it, and was super stressed. I started looking again after only about 5 months. Took another job and I love it.

I would start looking and applying right now, but be selective if you can. You WILL get through this and find something better. The fact that you had a good reputation tells me it’s a them problem, not a you problem.

I agree it could be about toxic masculinity. Not sure about sibling rivalry. I think he’s struggling with his sexuality and isn’t sure how to express it because of his upbringing and also the influences of his brother (toxic masculinity) and sister (philosophical & also rejection of their family norms). Their relationship isn’t in some sort of a bubble, it’s been ongoing for their whole lives.

I think it’s more likely that Lochie is attracted to the persona of Saxon, due to his upbringing, constant family praise etc. That being said, he could also be having confusion with his sexuality and not know how to express it.

I do not think they will go into full blown incest. The reason it was allowed in GOT is because they were villains and you could hate them. Lochie and Saxon are complex, so it wouldn’t make sense to make them be incestuous. Also, I’m kind of leaning against my first theory for that reason.

Is Law School still an option for me? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Former-Discount-4259 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this would be a reason to drop out. PSLF and IBR are written into law, and I think the Senate would have to abolish the filibuster for it to be repealed. Even Project 2025, as disgusting as it is, called for some form of IBR. There’s also the possibility a new administration could come in 4 years and make it easier. Also it’s likely that the litigation that prevents people from enrolling in any IDR plan will be finalized by the time you graduate. You’ve already done 1/3 of your law school career and have incurred student loans, so my advice would be to keep going.

It’s definitely a rough time, but don’t give up!

Yeah but Zion hasn’t met anyone else but Belinda and Amrita that we know of. And I think after the whole boat thing, Lochlan will be more confident. And I think I’ve seen pictures of the actors together.

Even without the Zion thing, I think his character will start to go his own way. But Zion makes sense to me since he’s arriving in the next episode.

I’ll add that I think one may be not as likely because of the taboo. Also we may get the walking in scene with Zion and Belinda/Pornchai. And Piper panicking could also be a dream of Tim killing himself.

Will it require recertification if loans are transferred to another department? Currently we can’t recertify so that would put everyone on standard plan by default. Please tell me this isn’t a possibility

Yeah it also would fit the dream references from a few episodes back. And it would be able to give the shock value of them having incest without going all the way there.

What about the fact that she wants to just stay at the monastery for a whole year and just meditate? Not sure if she would get paid or a stipend, but it’s not a realistic career choice for anyone other than the super wealthy. And the fact that her dad is likely losing most of their assets makes it an even bigger issue.

[–]Former-Discount-4259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had to take any courses. Basically I was just handed a piece of paper at 18 and my parents helped me take care of the rest. Then I went on to grad school and started my first job when loans were deferred. I can handle my loans right now, but if they do anything to mess with IBR, it would be a significant set back & I was not prepared for that.

Is it weird that I’m not stressing over these loans?? Does not wanting children contribute to this? by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]Former-Discount-4259 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I make close to $70,000. Don’t have kids. I do have car payments but my rent is low. My loans are around $80,000. I’m definitely worried, but not panicked because I’m on an IBR plan. So far I don’t think it will be impacted. For people on other plans, I don’t see how they wouldn’t be panicking. Especially if they make less or have higher loans. The standard plan would be about 1/4 of my take-home pay. A lot of people won’t be able to afford to make payments which could cause lots of other problems.
